Yes, the point is there are unidentified flying objects, as seen by credible people, including pilots. The question is, what are they? I'm always interested in credible terrestrial explanations. Problem is, the authorities no longer offer any.

@David1955 I'd love for evidence of aliens to be found. There has yet to be a UFO case that didn't have perfectly plausible explanations. Plenty of "credible" witnesses have seen ghosts and everything else under the Sun. Anecdotal evidence isn't evidence in any case. UFOs as aliens are the mythology of our time.

There's nothing to debunk, there's yet to be a UFO case that needed to be debunked. UFO believers are no crazier than any humans who have believed in magical beings through the ages. If there's ever actual evidence that a UFO is some sort of non human constructed device, it will not only make the news, it will evince great scientific interest.

Yes, they are. And a whole lot of people believe that they are evidence of non human intelligence. Like the signing ape theory, it's popularly believed, but scientifically and rationally a fail so far.

True, my point is that UFOs as alien probes or craft is a mythological belief, like believing angels existed.

It would appear that the evidence is too extraordinary to release to the public. What happens when the government of, by and for the people, decides that the people can't handle the truth?

@AnneWimsey The Pentagon has vouched as authentic five videos that leaked. Only two were generated under the AATIP program, and the program manager has said that 49 full reports were generated (as I recall the number). Ex-Sen. Harry Reid said that even those reports are only the tip of the iceberg and that a great deal more information remains classified. Even Obama has said that he can't say what he knows, and he probably wasn't even briefed. AND, while AATIP has been outed, the program under the auspices of Navel Intelligence remains fully secret.

@AnneWimsey Again, until I see decent evidence I remain highly skeptical, & if not an official "debunker", & certainly not "carrying-water" for any Gov't agency, I will continue to pooh-pooh this whole unlikely story. & this comes from a long time Science Fiction aficionado!
Would the Gov't lie if they thought they could get away with it. I have no doubt of that. But until I see better evidence color me an a-ufo-ist.

No one should disagree with that. But the fact is, a lot of stuff is seeping out now, and this subject is longer the domain of UFO nuts and their pseudo religion.
