What is your number one favorite food? I love Indian.
Sushi. If I could eat it every day I would be so healthy. But I really do love some Indian.
I love pizza, so I guess Italian is pretty high on the list for me (and spaghetti and lasagna rank pretty high, too), but I think overall I may like Mexican cuisine the best (something about the combination of rice and beans and cheese and red sauce and tortillas). I really don't know; it's a tossup. I also like Chinese, Greek, and Indian quite a lot.
Korean. Hot chili, ginger, garlic. What's not to love? Followed closely by Mexican, Greek, Chinese.
Marmite (or when in Australia Vegemite) on toast. It is eaten in Britain, South Africa, and New Zealand so most folks here will not have come across it. Marmite is made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing. It has a distinctive, powerful flavour, which is extremely salty. Folks either love it or hate it.
I've had Vegemite. As an American it's disgusting. But it seems like everyone who's not American loves it. Good on you guys.
@MamaMOB I,ll have you know that the Empire was built on Marmite !!
No No No Vegemite is way better. Hot, buttered toast with vegemite and a cup of tea. Marmite is a cheap imitation!
Indian is way up there, for me. But I prefer Mediterranean, like Greek or Turkish.
Bacon...and then milk! Not at the same time, though! All around food...Chinese.
@jorj yes. probably not a good idea, 'raw,' 'they,' frown on bacon as it is...but, I figure in moderation and with other healthy fruits and veggies, I will be fine. Sounds like a 'warm' memory with your grandma? And i love blackberry cobbler...
My overwhelming preference is Japanese, however having lived all over and visited many places I am game for almost every ethnicity. I've had Ethiopian food in DC, it was FABULOUS! For Mother's day the girls are taking me to the Indian Oven. I'm not ready to eat insects yet, at least not deliberately. The Cuban restaurant nearby just closed and we were sad to see it go. The only thing I don't go for is hot spicy, but I'm good with trying new food always.
I am fortunate enough to live in an area with a substantial Indian and PakistanI immigrant population so you can hardly throw a proverbial stone without hitting an Indian restaurant. Favorite dishes - chicken 65 and mysoree masala dosa.
