I don't think they have anything to do with eachother. I smoke it Every nite so I can go to sleep. Been smoking it for about 40 years ! I'd really rather not smoke it much but it really works πŸ™‚

I don't see the correlation and cannabis is better than tobacco and way better than booze and other controlled drugs.

Milk, particularly organic, and Valerian have far fewer side effects.

@LeighShelton its not toxic or damaging dude. ?? Just not for everyone maybe. Drugs don't stop epilepsy like pot .. virtually no side effects long or short term. For me a medical miracle ..

@Nickbeee you obviously don't encounter many addicts who need a bowl as soon as they wake up to be followed at half hourly intervals and are paranoidly disfunctional in their brains. They would probably be better off lobotomised.

@FrayedBear Hahahahahahaha!!!! I love you too bruh lol

Wow.. Just flying my space trumpet around Lake Titicaca, I'll be back in a tangerine.

@FrayedBear I agree Milk has awesome effects!!!

@Nickbeee it used to enable my sleeping in an uncomfortable rail car for at least an hour on my daily commute.

@Nickbeee I can do that without drugs. I can also give myself an orgasm without a woody, partner or equipment.
What can you do unassisted.

I am one of those paranoid types and I got sectioned too but it should still be legal I think. I think all drugs should be legal so there cleaner with no dealers and there's money to help the addictive natured people like myself. I have suffered badly as a binge drinker and was very close to being a full-on pisshead too and that shit with tobacco is legal.

@FrayedBear - Yeah right... I once knew a guy who told me he could give his girlfriend an orgasm over the phone!

@Ungod Don't even need the phone...just schedule it for a certain time or event like when it hails or if she is religious during mass on Sunday.

@FrayedBear - And John Redcorn did WONDERS for the β€œmigraine headaches” of Dale Gribble’s wife...

@FrayedBear - That’s krazee of course. Milk causes many people to react terribly with vomiting and disease. My brother had this problem his whole life.

When I gave up milk, my digestion improved incredibly.

Weed helped me to change my diet for the better...

@Ungod Who is John Redcorn and Dale Gribble and wife? An American exorcism? Got one of those only about 30 klms away.

@Ungod And my sister was allergic to her first husband. He brought her out in hives.
Milk and peanut allergies. Didn't they only start occurring about 100 years after Monsanto started trading? Or was it when they took the cocaine out of coca cola? ?

0

Nope, my son does not touch the stuff.

When you’re around...

@Ungod Nope period. He is an honor student in engineering. I am a medical patient, his wife and mother are as well.
Just not his thing . . .
He did for a while as a teen (17-18) but stopped, not fond ofthe effects on his thinking process.

@Davesnothere Sure... I bet he doesn’t masturbate also!

@Ungod No need for him to hide it with two medical patients using it in the home all the time.

He must not breathe in the home...

@Ungod we don't smoke in the home, that would be inconsiderate, we smoke on the porch.
Also, it is not the same thing to be exposed to second hand smoke as to smoking something yourself because you want to, doubly so when the patients are medical and consume less than a gram a day of CDB strains, not THC strains, much of which is not smoked at all.

Point being, it is readily availble and not frowned upon by familt friends or his wife, it is just not his cup of tea.

Why is that hard to believe?
Not everyone likes drinking either.

@Davesnothere
Not everybody tells the truth either...

@Ungod True, but I also live with him, and both his wife and I smoke regularly.
There is zero reason for him to lie
He just does not like weed.

I am kind of amazed that you find that unbelievable, like you have never met anyone ever who did not like weed.
Sounds like your in a green Bubble.
And seeing as we all used to live in Humboldt together, I have seen a few of those.

@Davesnothere - I don’t NOT believe it. I just DON’T believe it...

@Ungod I get that, but it is not a fantastic claim.
It is not any different than someone not liking Lasagna, or Chili, or Beer, or wine.
A personal preference, which you cannot believe.

Reeks of a bias you hold.

@Davesnothere - Experience... I find that sex, drugs and money are the things most people lie about, most of the time.

If you wanna believe him that’s ok and understandable.

But I don’t!

@Ungod While I find that addage to be valid, it assumes apriori that every person always has some reason to lie about those things
Which is simply false
That is crossing the line from skepticism to cynicism

I do not need to believe him, he is standing beind me. I told him about your inability to believe he did not smoke when his wife and I do when I last had to medicate myself.

He says "You can eat a dick Motherfucker. Calling me a liar for no reason."

I don't smoke pot or use cannabis in any form. Found out I am allergic to it as it makes me extrememly paranoid and violently ill. It is just not worth it for me. For relaxation I take a walk in the woods. Works everytime!

OFTEN, weed can show you things you may need to remove from your diet or surroundings.

It can also be used to face fears that are deep in your conscious that may need to be addressed.

Just sayin...

@Ungod I'll pass on the violent vomit, thanks.

What inFUCK is β€œVIOLENT VOMIT” !?!

@Ungod Guess you've never been that sick - you're lucky.

@Fanburger Why do you say that? I don't put anybody down for smoking pot. I don't think it is crap to get high or take cannabis in some other form. I just can't do it myself because it makes me sick. How is that "crap"?

@LindaEnger - I understand vomiting violently (a poor description, imho), but I am thoroughly at a loss as to what constitutes VIOLENT VOMIT !!

1

Haven't smoked pot since I was a teenager; I really didn't like the way it made me feel.

I was living in Colorado when it was legalized, and saw no real change, outside of the influx of tax money and new businesses sprouting up everywhere. Have no qualms with it being legalized, myself - it's no more dangerous than alcohol.

The biggest thing for me, though? It's how pungent it smells now... it was never like that when I was a kid. When I was a kid, "skunk weed" was the crappy lawn clippings that only the local burnouts would try to push off and sell, and didn't even give you a decent buzz... now apparently it's all the rage.

Whatever they've done to it over the years, now everyone's walking around smelling like the business end of a skunk... and that smell lingers forever! It's on their clothes, hair, furniture, car, belongings... you go to restaurants and grocery stores, you can smell it floating past like Pepe Le Pew just waltzed in... it's everywhere.

It's a pretty nauseating smell, too... so if you happen to smoke weed? Chances are really good you're not being paranoid -- everyone does know you smoke weed, because you smell like a skunk's butt.

So a word of caution: if you live in a state where it's still illegal, you might as well be wearing a neon sign that says Bust Me! -- it's that pungent, and can be smelled from that far away.

tmaaz Level 5 Apr 21, 2018

Alcohol is dangerous. Pot is not...

Sorry -- for clarification, I meant "dangerous" insofar as a person functioning while under the influence of a substance (impaired judgement and motor reflexes, etc), not the substance's effect on the body.

I’d sure like to run into this weed that is sooo much more potent than it was β€œback in the day”... Cause I remember Alcapulco Gold, Thai Stick and WHACKY WEED! I have yet to run into ANYTHING that compared!!

The β€œdanger” you speak of is NON-EXISTANT for weed... I have driven professionally in NYC as a cabbie, livery driver, and as an independent traveling musician as well as a USA regional wide driver in a touring music band. ALL while THOROUGHLY weed stoned and smoking more while doing it. NEVER had an accident or near miss. EVER! It gives me energy when I am sleepy and keeps me going when I am hungry and tired... I shared the driving responsibilities with other POTHEADS smoking pot while driving, However, I wouldn’t trust a person behind the wheel who has had more than even ONE drink of alcohol!

1

Nope, I seldom even drink.

No comparison...

That’s like responding to, β€œDo you play sports?” with, β€œI seldom even have sex!”...

@Ungod , if you can’t compare sports to sex, you’re doing one of them wrong!

If you think MJ is anything like DRINKING ALCOHOL (edited), you haven’t done either one right. Which seems to be YOUR story!

@Ungod MJ=weed. If you are just looking to argue, look somewhere else. I will block you. Have a nice day

2

You can take cannabis in more ways than smoking, which doesn't give people enough THC to cure cancer- it takes cannabis oil. Or you can take CBD oil, which also calms people, raises their moods and is legal most places.
It also cures seizures and other problems.

@okiestache Where have you been? People have been curing cancer with THC since the 1970s. The internet is crammed with stories, and even the official cancer website admits THC kills cancer cells without harming human ones, but keeps saying it hasn't been officially endorsed by the cancer society.

Mainly because chemo therapy and radiation, which recent studies in the U.K. show kills patients within 15 years of treatment for 50% of patients, is a billion dollar industry.
People who announce alternate cures in their clinics have been turning up dead in droves. So many in the past few years that it's forced alternate cancer care givers into hiding. You might try reading more.

@okiestache Do a google/youtube search for CANNABIS CURES CANCER and THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM...

@Ungod, @okiestache Landmark Study Shows Half of Cancer Patients are Killed by Chemo β€” NOT Cancer [thefreethoughtproject.com]

I don’t smoke it, either. I had tried it a very long time ago and hated the feeling it gave me. It always baffles me that, when people hear this, they tend to try and convince me that it was just a fluke and I should keep trying different kinds. I mean, why make continued efforts to gain another vice? I’ve got enough of those already.

Leeshi Level 7 Apr 21, 2018

I've gotten that, too. I've even been told that it wasn't pot. lol

β€œIt must have been laced with something.” β€œYou just haven’t tried the right one.” β€œNot all of them will effect you like that.” Ugh!

If you think pot is a vice, you’ve already derailed...

One thing about β€œpot” is that you can grow it yourself or only get it from growers you do trust.
This is why it’s important to realize that cannabis is not a drug...

They definitely do sometime lace commercial weed!

Often it’s doused in soda-pop to make it stick together in bricks...

I tried something laced many years ago. I liked it. Never touched it again. If I liked it that much I would have liked it more the next time. Just like sex.

7

I don't smoke it. I try to take care of my lungs....I only have 2

twill Level 7 Apr 21, 2018

Eat it... Vape it!

You’ll need the cancer-killing power of cannabinoids as your ENDO-cannibinoid system has just not evolved yet up to the carcinogen challenges modern tech-society has been throwing at it...

@Ungod Edibles are good. I indulge about once a month or so

@twill - Yeah... Not to just dispute, but I have sampled edible after edible and haven’t gotten even a mild a buzz once!

My only point is that canniboids are actually health promoting, disease preventing essential chemicals, that the body produces to protect it from various disease causing agents and stressors.

It is actually GOOD for your lungs!
I know this may (or may not!) sound incredible to you (and others!).

I am just trying to spread the word and hopefully more people will look into these things...

@Ungod Yes, I'm not sure I've met regular smokers who like edibles. They are different. IDK about the health benefits to lungs and disease prevention, but it seems that the tar, nicotine and assorted pesticides and herbicides would outweigh it.

@twill -
The main reason I don’t even consider edibles is that they always involve consuming excess sugar, fat and alcohol.

I am pretty sure weed smoke has NO nicotine.
I can’t tolerate cigarette smoke - one cigarette will disable me.
I can be in the largest of rooms and detect even a little cigarette smoke from far away - even when others cant.

Weed smoke has not been shown to create cancers anyway.

Your really can’t assume or generalize effectively with human physiology. Especially the untrained person!!
What works or doesn’t. Happens or not, is really all that matters eventually...

Pesticides and herbicides are hardly unique to weed, IF they are being used.
And why would anyone put herbicide on an herb they want to grow??

Anyway I t’s easy enough to grow your own or buy from growers you trust - I don’t advocate consuming unknown street weed, especially these days!

I’m not saying there are no dangers - though I haven’t heard of any credible ones.

I just say don’t believe the hype - there is a LOT of disinformation being spread nowadays!!

I am hoping people will actually look into things rather than accept everything they hear.

2

Me either. It just doesn't sit well with me no matter how I tried. I know it can be beneficial for chronic pain and anxiety. I find kratom to be more effective on both medical conditions. I use it daily and am very thankful to have stubbled upon this miracle plant.

Better stock up on your kratom because addicts are now using it for it's opioid properties. The government looking to make it a scheduled narcotic because of the deaths from it's use.

@2TuffTony kratom is used, effectively , to stop addiction. Death supposedly due to Kratom 44.
Deaths due to tylenol 15,000. Big Pharm are now experimenting with Kratom. Of course they want to stop the sell of Kratom. This plant will generate them a hefty profit.

@Lethallips I'm not knocking it. Just saying addicts are using it to get high. The FDA/DEA has it under scrutiny and they are considering scheduling as a controlled substance.

@2TuffTony. Gosh how sad that you think this way. They are not using Kratom to get high. It simply does not have that capability. They are using it ro get past detoxing.

@Lethallips sorry, didn't mean to get you upset. Just relating what I've read and what my two idiot cousins are doing with it. They brew it like tea or something? They smoked that artificial pot herb stuff too and used bath salts, etc. So, just saying you might not be able to get it as easy, soon. Words without facial expression can give wrong impression, so again, my bad. Didn't mean to disturb the hornets nest.

8

I haven't for about the last 10 years, I was once a daily toker.

Stay clean

@Taotsahf yes it's not a problem, I've never craved weed since I quit.

I once stayed clean for 10 years. Now I’m a daily toker... AGAIN!

@Ungod That's sad....

@buzz13 YOU are a judgemental SNOB !!

1

Nope. Never done it myself. I’ve never taken any drugs.

Never had an inoculation? No childhood illnesses? Never had a drink or sampled food cooked in alcohol? Is all your food grown in laboratories? You’ve been eating organically grown meats and vegetables all your life? Do you BREATHE ??

@Ungod ummm. Ok. I’ve never taken illicit drugs. Since I was an adult I’ve never taken any prescription drugs. For the last 11 years I’ve gotten most of my food from local farmers who don’t give vaccines to their animals and are all pasture raised. So, yes, I actively avoid drugs as much as possible

Funny how some ppl get all anal about a general question, good for you! Because I myself was taking a medication from Dr that gave my liver a temporary out of wack trying to shut down...finally reading normal now minus a mass they found that develop in the liver n my belly miraculously sinking in by itself that test n drs can't figure out why. I'm hoping it just completely sinks in lol then I can reduce my belly fat...?@ThomasReitz

@ThomasReitz - The β€œI don’t take drugs” group is a funny bunch! Drugs go from β€œlicit” to β€œillicit” on the whims of the legal and pharmaceutical powers that be and is NOT a useful scientific/chemical delineation.

ALCOHOL, MARIJUANA and COCAINE were once quite β€œlicit” (if that’s a word!).

Even now, a total LUSH can lay claim to not doing illicit drugs!

Nevermind how we are constantly bombarded with chemicals in our environment that quite literally fit into the catagory of DRUGS, but are just never identified as such.

I won’t even start with the virtual drugs of TELEVISION and other mass influences of drug particle/waves we are ALL subjected to regularly.

AND drugs, in herbal forms, such as coffee and tobacco, are a regular and often BENEFICIAL part of regular human consumption.

One of my overall points it that the β€œI don’t take drugs” position is little more than meaningless snobbery...

But now you’ve β€œclarified” your position as β€œI actively avoid drugs as much as possible”. So who doesn’t?

0

Those who don’t smoke weed, simply think they are better than those who don’t...

Ungod Level 6 Apr 30, 2018

Not all of us. Not better. But there are those of us who are someone who doesn't smoke struggling with something and think smoking weed might help. At least, that's how it is for me.

Maybe the majority of Right Wing people of faith, although that's probably not even fair. But I certainly don't.think I'm better because I DON'T smoke. I just don't like the high. The majority of my friends do smoke dope.

I used to, I enjoyed it a lot. Many friends still smoke, I enjoy the aroma still, but my personal choice was made because I feel it would have a net negative affect on my career.

Hell no, I'm no better than anyone else. That's some inverted snobbery going on there. Just choices, ain't it? I don't drink either... Cos I was alcohol dependent for my entire adult life.

All things in moderation, but I'm probably more of a judgmental ass than when I was religious. SOME really need to smoke every day, but I'd say most who use any mind-altering substance on a daily basis would benefit from therapy and/or meditation.

The vast majority of my friends us MJ a bit, some every month and several who are ill daily.

My devoutly religious dad smokes about daily. A year ago my dad could barely do any exercise and today he rides a 4 mile loop on a bike 5-6 days a week.

0

When I was young a lot of my classmates did. I was never tempted, I saw the stoner's and they always looked like they were half asleep. I didn't want to be like that, so I never tried it. My exwife's son got hooked on it when he was just 12. He went to rehab at about 16, and it failed he is now 25 and still hooked, working a hard dead end job. I feel sorry for him, because as long as he smokes weed, he will never have anything, because he wastes his money on weed and fines when he gets caught with it. Such a waste.

Pot is not physically addictive. You cannot "get hooked" on it like smack or crank.

However if your life sucks, your job sucks and life looks bleak, weed can brighten your mood. That is why more enlightened societies grasp it works as a medication,

One can become phycologically dependant on it, but not physically addicted.

In short I would not blame that lads lot in life on weed, but on something underlying, for which he uses weed to cope. For instance "He got hooked on it at 12?", by that you mean he startyed using it at 12.
So life was not stadard issue for him was it?
In some way life was kind of fucked up as he was starting to use weed at 12, something drove that.

@Davesnothere There are many other signs of addiction than physical addiction. Addiction can be habitual and behavioral. If you have these signs, OBSESSIVE THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS, DISREGARD OF HARM CAUSED, LOSS OF CONTROL: DENIAL OF ADDICTION OR HIDING DRUG USE then you are addicted and it is harmful.

@CK-One You are conflating addiction and pyschological dependance

2

I work at a police department so, it would be difficult if I did. I've actually only tried it twice in my life and that was in my thirties. I didn't really get anything out of it, so, never go into it. I'm fine with it being legal though. Within reason.

So I'm the same way and holy hell were in the same neck of the woods!

LOL. You're right up the mountain! And btw, there is no such thing as hell, let alone a holy one! lol

1

no, but only one of a few. I never have, but almost every circle I am in seems to be more smokers than not.

And isn't it fascinating how you are regarded as a greater aberration than a non believer is by God botherers?
I had a friend who came out under the big brother scheme and was sent for two years slavery on a farm in the Hunter Valley. He claimed that much of the banks of the river had acres growing wild.

@FrayedBear I have been fighting bushfires and rested in the shade of massive dope plants, local cops were fighting fires and standing under the same shade along with us. You are right re the aberration, I don't drink so don't mix after work, and don't smoke to don't get to mix at breaks at work. Either that or my body odour.

@Rugglesby Bugger me Blu and there I had an inkling that you were an escaped New Zealander and you're turning out to be an unwashed Pom emulator! ?????? Standing in the shade with you... probably their plantations!

2

I don't because I can be randomly drug tested at work at any time. Have a mortgage, need a job. I do own stock in medical marijuana companies.

Remember my time in the military and reason for quiting... and you know what? You are Right and the time will come that you will say.... No, now I can but I don't need it, No! Priorities.

@GipsyOfNewSpain actually, I'm looking forward to when I'm having a migraine come on & I can take a few hits to subdue the crippling pain & nausea & maintain some function as opposed to taking a script that causes me to be unconscious, then once "awake", leaves me a drooling, brain fogged mess, unable to function outside of my house for another 8 to 12 hours...if the headache has cleared. They can last anywhere from a coue of days to 2 to 3 eeeks at varying intensity.
Fortunately, though it has taken years, I have found a lot of my migraine triggers & avoid them like the plague. Not 100% yet but I may only have to deal with a migraine 2 or 3 times a year.

@SallyInStitches I hope the time will come that every time I say... I no longer smoke weed, I won't have to say I don't take any other drugs or any pill labelled by Big Pharma or the corner drug dealer or that I seldom taste alcohol anymore or get vaccinated of any kind or for any purpose. Can I just be Natural? ...as I came to this world 64 levels ago? "Been there, Done that! And no longer needed in my life as it stands at this moment" And I am sorry for your Migraine.

2

Obviously, you guys didn't celebrate 420 day with us yesterday! ? I smoked before and after my enlightenment about gods. I'm always amused by people stating, "I smoked once and didn't like it" or "it made me paranoid". I don't remember ever feeling paranoid from smoking pot but do feel paranoid about getting caught smoking because it's illegal. Depending on the type of pot dictates the type of reaction. My favorite is the pot that makes you laugh until the tears are running down your cheeks. I don't like the pot that has intense "body rush" the sense of falling or the feeling you get right before fainting. If you have only used pot only a time or two then my guess you haved missed out. The continued mass consumption of the devastating drug alcohol is what shocks me. I don't think pot smokers are more or less atheist. I think atheists are just more open to admit using without embarrassment.

@MarvelAnn Thanks

1

Looks like I'm the odd one out, Smoked it for years, still do though more for pain relief than peasure. 36+ years and no problems yet, except the law

You, me and the rest of us... 50 years steadily toking so far. Some restrictions and interruptions during 10 years (never busted) military service!

@Ungod Had very full on couple of decades, served 3 sentences but more mellowed now though, but you gotta keep your hand in, πŸ˜‰

@Savage - I very much VAPE now. I’m currently enamored with cannabis cartridges @ nectarsectorextracts.com...

1

I think pot stinks, it hurts your throat, it may give people a childish kick to be doing something illegal in most places, but when it comes to kick, you get a much better one from a 15 year old single malt scotch, and it tastes infinitely better ! (And you do not have to suck on someone else's saliva on the glass!)

I’ll match 3 drinks vs smoking all the MJ anyone can possibly consume in one setting, in a comparative contest of driving, or any other mind-body coordination skill, ANY day!

1

I don't smoke anything anymore. Pot always just made me sleepy and gave me cottonmouth.

It β€œmade you sleepy” because like most modern money driven westerners, you are likely sleep deprived!

Marijuana seeks to BALANCE the human mind and body!

Hydrate your body sufficiently!

[thriftbooks.com]

@Ungod it didn't matter where or when or what I smoked. Always put me to sleep. I don't drink carbonated beverages or coffee much. I sleep plenty and well and I'm very healthy.

@Medicdad
Yes doctor...

1

I don't smoke pot either or cigs but I do love woman ....

Riki64 Level 5 June 24, 2018

@emmawolf I am way to old for you , I am 64 but I do look really young for my age ...

You smoke women?

2

Nope.
i've never used.
not once.
not ever.
never even considered it.
not anything else, either.

Sounds fun.

whether it sounds fun is irrelevant.
it's honest.
drugs have never been a consideration

somehow
in the randomness of life
being born into a world of drugs
I never once used

raising my son as healthfully as i knew to do
yet
still
he died from the disease of addiction

why anything is the way it is
why i'm spared but he wasn't
emotional proof there are no gods

12

Can't smoke pot because of drug tests, can't drink because I'd never stop, and can't eat babies because I'm vegan. Can't do any of that Atheist stuff.

@PeppermintDreads Or a scrumptious mid-day BABY BURGER!

3

Never even tried it.

7

I also don't smoke pot. I used to, but after some time I realized all it did was make me lazy and hungry. I've decided that I enjoy being sober more than being on drugs, especially during sex.

It wouldn't be worth the potential arrest record and loss of my job for me. I'll just have a glass of red πŸ˜‰
