Yes, that's the whole point of going out.....to enjoy being served a meal prepared by someone else. Why have your treat ruined?

I had 3 children, but they were not allowed to interrupt, pester, annoy anyone, or leave a restaurant table unless it was to use the restroom, & I'd go with them. They had to sit in the seats, facing us while eating & talking.

I do not have the attitude that all children are little darlings, including my own, or my grandchildren, & great grandchildren.

Not bloody impressive.

I hate the way they hold up the line at the cash register.

I thought it was funny but kids have to eat too and parents sometimes just don't have the energy to cook. Your dislike of exposure to children would push parents to unhealthy fast food restaurants.

There are family-friendly diners in my small town. I've often enjoyed watching some of the children in the table next to me. Part of the time I've been annoyed by them but I've also been annoyed by adults in the same restaurant.

@Lorajay My kids only got to a restaurant as a very seldom treat, & they had to behave themselves while there, or they wouldn't make a return visit.

@Lorajay People who want to enjoy a fine meal in an adult atmosphere have that right. There are plenty of options for the rugrats. There's only a few restaurants in the United States with these policies. Children with their parents are not prevented from eating in 99% of the restaurants anywhere

Bite your tongue! If you said that publicly here in Iowa, where kids and family are so damned all-important, they'd lynch you! No wonder I can't find a compatible woman to date on Match, because practically all of them, even at my age, are still extremely family and kid-oriented. While I am child-free by choice and have no interest in visiting their grandkids with them or seeing their family more than a couple times a month. Even the women without kids seem to be only seeking family men with kids. Almost everybody seems to have drank the Kool-Aid on this issue.

@TomMcGiverin Haha, I understand where you're coming from. But I live in SW Florida which is largely inhabited by old fogies who also don't like kids much. Actually, I don't mind kids much IF they're well behaved. Unfortunately, well-behaved kids seem to be kinda scarce these days.
