They timed this for now, because they have enough voter suppression laws in place, with enough states, to overcome the increased votes against them by women over backlash on abortion. Enough suppression of votes by colored people will still allow the Repubs to control congress and the WH even with all the lost female votes. The Repubs may be evil, but they are good at calculation. I hope I am wrong too, like you. But the Repubs have had the votes on the SC for some time to overturn Roe, they just wanted make sure they first had what they needed to keep winning fed elections and controlling DC, even if only a small % of women vote for them. They saw what happened to the Dems in the South after civil rights laws were passed in the 60s.

Oh yeah, the Republicans are nothing if not organized and focussed. We need to do the same, and beat them at their own game. (Rhyme intended )
