Putin's pathetic excuse for an army invaded another country assuming it would be easy and was demonstrated to be ill equipped and many troops unaware they were even fighting a war. It's Russia who has lost a confirmed 4 Generals and with another 7 that can't be found. It is Russia that has lost a third of its troops. It is Russia that failed multiple times to assassinate Zelensky. Russian troops were supposed to take Kiev in 3 days. How'd that work out?

I didn't say anything about "freedom vs tyranny" so that's just you inserting "twaddle" to argue against. And you have yet to show that the economic measures are backfiring so, that's just you making an assertion that you cannot back up with evidence. You also ignore the obvious, if Russia withdrew that would fix all these issues too.
