Before the radical left explodes there will most likely be a class war. There have been many quotes in history stating that when the gap between the wealthy and the poor reaches a certain point the latter will rise up in revolt. The actions of the billionaire class is so obscene that they are fueling the basis for such a revolt.

Nope. Not in this age.

The peasants are sated with Netflix and Taco Bell and too tied to their debts to even think about it.

Then there’s the technological aspect of social control that will never allow it.

will start building that guillotine right now in my shed

I have never understood why people want more money than they could spend in five lifetimes.

@JanGarber It is called greed

@JanGarber, @jacpod Where do we get thew parts?

@Marine do you have 'amazon' can't be too difficult, you'd think that you ought to be able at least to get a flat pack guillotine at IKEA.

She is right on the mark. While Trump is definitely no prize, the left is trafficking in identity politics and censorship increasingly. This isn't new, but it is growing. If you disagree, then cool. Still, do some research and find out why people feel this way (if for no reason other than to understand the opposition) instead of labeling everyone stupid. While inclusiveness and unity is harder, it is the only way civilization happens.

If anyone is doing censorship it would be the republicans plus they are adding a great amount of propaganda. Where did you find this research you speak of ? Also all politics are identity driven!

@Marine I don't know if I want to do a debate, but I'm willing to reference how I have come to conclusions. Discussion is more interesting.

In terms of research, I think having conversations with people on the right and asking then what they are concerned about is very useful. There are polls that have been done as well - there are people on the right that feel like their access to expression has been cut off because of pressure to conform to worldviews. While I don't share those worldviews most of the time, no idea should be so scary as to suppress it if people are to be trusted. I can reference gs, but people like Sam Harris have talked about this a lot already.

When I say identity politics, let me be clear about what I mean. If I say - as a straight man, I can tell you that I don't find someone Caitlyn Jenner attractive... that is a reasonable g. If I say - as a straight man, I can tell you Caitlyn Jenner is not attractive definitively... that is not. The first response identifies me and references the information as subjective. The second makes an objective claim using subjectivity as a basis and justification. If something is true, then it needs to be congruent independent of subjectivity. That is a very important distinction and a value - it shows recognition of fallibility of perception and welcomes conversation when a person recognizes the limitations of subjectivity. Identity politics engages in that last bit there and that leads to dangerous places.

I think that is an intelligent thing to be concerned about.

The radical left loves democracy? You mean like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, & Maduro? What does the radical left have to do with democracy? They believe in one person, one vote, one time only. Once you vote away your freedom for the promises of a socialist paradise your freedom is gone forever.

LMAO!!!

You are implying hitler was a socialist.... check yourself.

You mean Hitler wasn't the leader of the National SOCIALIST German workers party? He was.Mussolini was also a socialist, but Franco was not.

@doug6352 Lol. Do you honestly believe Hitler was a socialist? WOW. That acronym was pure propaganda, like everything else that allowed him to rise to power.

I studied social psychology along with evolutionary biology most of my life. It's amazing how the two studies coincide theoretically. For instance, fear that she mentions, in biology is an important motivation in social psych also. Fear and the "us and them" mentality adds cohesion to the group and is often the first act of a new emperor baboon in order to solidity his power and status.

I hope President Trump doesn't read this because I wouldn't put war and "boots on the ground" past him.

Keep an eye out for my upcoming book "Saving Gaia" that deals with this problem and how marijuana helps to decondition users and enthusiasts.

Does your book look at evolutionary psychology regarding the religious impulse and assignment of agency?

@Markus It sure does. That's what it's all about. I even go into the evolution of the need for it. From my view its etiology, as we would a disease.

Her presentation is odd. What she is describing is the culture promoted by the irrational right and Fox "News."They absolutely refused to cooperate and try to cram their perspective down other people's throats. They thrive on constant emotional conflict.

@NotConvinced I am sorry, but I am absolutely sure that you are wrong. It is NOT practiced equally by both sides. If you say that, your "crap detector" is broken.

@NotConvinced To meet your specious objection, I will change the statement from "they have absolutely refused to cooperate" to "they have consistently refused to cooperate" That still makes my point, and refutes your assertion. I don't compromise truth.

Truth is not always pleasant.

This is another reason why I don't like extremes. I believe in moderation.

I'm not an evolutionary biologist and therefore have a different take on this as a whole. To start with the left is not killing what it loves. This is not a blue and red issue but there are those who want you to think that way. Citizens United is a group who got it past our government that money is free speech. We all know a hundred speaks louder than a twenty so money can now pour into elected officials like never before and some of them are being paid off by big business and offered money to vote certain ways that are in favor of big business.
What is happening here is buying into government in order to stop business and industry restrictions. If I can freely pollute and make a profit without a care or worry about others and the environment I have exactly what I want. The Kock brothers and friends are doing this. The hell with the EPA, etc. Nobody cares if you drink bad water or have oil spills.
To pull this off there is a need to convince the public that "white is right" and that liberals are "taking away what is yours." Awaken the KKK and Nazis again and they will work for you on this. After all, you do not want to pay for the other's benefits. In the end we are all being stolen blind while the rich just get richer and their greed proves that they only cared for themselves.

kock and friends are doing more harm to the USA than one knows.Their foundations conceal their real reasons and jusyt put out false info by the ton.Money is the only thing that matters.

I don't know what she is talking about...

Most of us feel like you do. Certainly she is not describing what is going on in America today. Another thing to consider is that in the UK left and right are opposite politically than they are here. In American the left and right have shifted since the time of Lincoln.

Sorry. I tried watching her but the more I listen to her drone on the more depressed I feel ? moving right along...

Sort of a depressing subject, unfortunately.
