The jar hit a wall.

1

I hope this proves correct, but I wouldn't count on it yet. There is still a lot of stupid and crazy out there...

2

If only it were laced the same way as Jonestown, we'd be in much better shape. Maybe there is still time?

I think the drubbing will be more fun. Dems should just learn to be patient and less anxious. 45 has now caused three election losses so we know there's nothing to fear (on our side).

I can picture all of the fanatical MAGA Republicans with straws in their mouths sucking up what remains of the Kool-Aid! 😂

The Rino republicans are the ones who need to be
Kicked out, not the MAGA republicans.

@Trajan61 Still drinking your Kool-Aid? It’s finally beginning to dawn on Republicans in this country that aligning themselves with Donald Trump, an authoritarian fascist psychopathic lying criminal, was to become a true RINO. Only fanatics would remain loyal followers of Trump at this point. The religion of MAGA continues, even as its founder is shown not to be wearing any clothes and is eventually martyred.

@p-nullifidian People like McConnel, Romney, Murkowski,, Cheney and Susan Collins are the ones who hurt the Republican Party.

@Trajan61 Wow, that’s rich! So Republicans who are willing to work with their Democratic counterparts, who are generally not criminals that lie every time they open their mouths, and who respect the Constitution, and our system of checks and balances (in other words, aren’t fascists) are the problem? Actually, it’s quite a reverse. The Never-Trumpers in the Republican party are the only ones who had the integrity to stand up against an immoral, offensively racist idiot who kissed Putin’s ass and has run the GOP right into the ground.

@p-nullifidian You are nothing but a far left progressive if you favour Biden and the Rino’s in the Republican Party over Trump.

@p-nullifidian The democrats don’t work with republicans and are only interested in pushing their radical agenda so why should republicans work with them?

@Trajan61 “You are nothing but a far left progressive if you favour Biden and the Rino’s in the Republican Party over Trump.”

Whoa, them’s fightin’ words! 😂 Seriously, I’ve been called worse. The word ‘progressive’ is hardly a slander as its root is “progress.” Would you say that the word ‘progress’ is a negative term?

One of my favorite Republicans, Teddy Roosevelt, was a self-declared progressive. Teddy advocated for a graduated (i.e., progressive) income tax system in which the richer members of society paid a greater percentage of taxes. He also called for an estate tax that would essentially eliminate the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next. TR, whose face is on Mount Rushmore, was a great Republican!

Look, there are only two ways to go in this country: forward (progress) or backward (regress). Dare I ask, which do you prefer?

“The democrats don’t work with republicans and are only interested in pushing their radical agenda…”

Since when? Is this something you’ve been taught to parrot? Democrats are Americans just like Republicans are Americans, or don’t you see this? Over the centuries, the most effective statesman, and those who live in the memory of the nation as a whole, are those who reached across the aisle and cooperated, collaborated and yes, compromised.

And just what do you mean by a ‘radical agenda?’ I look at the Democratic party’s platform today and I see nothing in there that is what anyone would call “radical.” Are you the product of talk radio? Or, do you have your own fully supported ideas here?

I’m going to try once more, here. Trump is not a true Republican. The Republican party has existed since the days of Abraham Lincoln, and practically every Republican who came before would have been appalled at the speech, demeanor, behavior, philosophy, and quite frankly, criminality of Donald Trump.

After all that we’ve learned about Donald Trump in the last six years, his lying, his criminal behavior, his tax evasion, his self-dealing, his incitement of criminal activity, his weaponization of the DOJ and other departments, and his handling of the nation’s most protected secrets, should convince any thinking human being that Donald Trump is someone to be discarded as a piece of garbage on the side of the street.

But you? Your support of this hideous human being after all we know is indicative of a person who is not fully developed … someone who needs help!

Please, for the sake of yourself and all of us on this site who respect (as I hope that you do) rationality and the lack of religious faith, abandon immediately your faith in this man! Give up your religious devotion to Donald Trump, please, I beg of you!

Donald Trump is not the Messiah, and your speech sounds like a member of a cult. Step outside of your own body for a moment, look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself, “Am I thinking rationally?” “Are the Democrats really the evil that I’ve been brainwashed into believing, or are they Americans just like all of us?”

You hold the power over your mind, and only you can move forward, or progress, beyond the present.

@p-nullifidian Biden’s policies have caused runaway inflation and his attempts to shut down oil and gas will damage the US economy further if he isn’t stopped. Under Trump the US economy was stronger and we were not reliant on others for our energy. Our borders were more secure and we didn’t have record high illegal immigration. Trump’s foreign policy with Pompeo as Secretary of State made a lot more sense and did a lot to stabilize the Middle East as it contained Iran, the number one sponsor of terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. In spite of all this people like you and the Rino’s in the Republican Party continue to support Biden and the democrats over the more sensible policies of Trump and his supporters. As for myself I don’t intend to vote for Trump in the Republican primary in 24 as I will support either Cruz, Pompeo or DeSantis. Trump is to much of a braggart and yes he lies a lot but what politician doesn’t. In spite of that he was a much better leader than Biden who is corrupt and senile and can barely give a coherent speech. And yes if Trump is the Republican canadate again I will definitely support him against Biden or any of the democrats.

Wait till 2024. DeSantis or Cruz will be president and the GOP will control the house and the senate.

Not unless Trump dies...
and they come up with some policies other than cutting social security/medicare, tax cuts for the rich etc. (owing the Libs is not a policy) You only have to take a realistic look at their appalling mid-term results to see that Trump and Trumpism are like betting to an inside straight. Think Hillary Clinton, but from the other side. The left of her party hated her and the Reps hated her more. (but she still got more votes than Trump)
I know he has a solid core but that has to be balanced by the fact that most people cannot stand him and everything he spouts. For every hardcore MAGA in a swing state, there is a Dem who would walk through fire to stop him. Then you have the moderate Reps who cannot bring themselves to vote for Trumpism. Topped by independents and lacklustre Dems who will surely make the effort to vote if it keeps him or anyone that supports him out of office.
Then you are also going to have all those investigations going to trial. There will be a lot of guilt by association connected to Trump similar to Ford vs Carter. Not to mention all the senior Reps who aided and abetted him who might well find themselves in front of a grand jury and then trial.
On the other hand, no Rep candidate can win the nomination or garnish any of his base without his endorsement. So a non-Trumpist would stand even less of a chance. Lose, lose.
Then you have two significant factors. If one thing is common to both recent elections, it is how close they can get and small things can tip the balance. Sadly a lot of people died from COVID. Most of those were un-vaxed and most of those were Reps. Then you have the misguided rant against drop-boxes/mail-in voting. How many votes did you lose by people intending to vote on the day but didn't? It is kinda like a telethon where they tell you to only donate your money in person.

Desantis will be the nominee. He has a proven record of winning whereas Cruz has a record of being a spineless beta male who when the going gets tough fucks off to Cancun.

Btw. an interesting fact; There cannot be a Desantis/Trump ticket. The US constitution forbids the POTUS and VP being from the same state.

@273kelvin The ones who are going to trial are Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

@Trajan61 And the Jets are going to win the Superbowl.
So how do you think this is going to happen? The same way you jailed Hillary? Fourteen hours of questioning (note no pleading the 5th) and...???
Hunter's laptop has already been looked into by the FBI and they didn't find enough there to continue their investigation. So you can go at it in congress and set up any kind of nonpartisan committee you want but congress cannot indict or arrest anyone. That is the DOJ/FBI's job and I think they have better things to do.*
So Joe Biden is going to jail? Wow, how is that bridge you bought working out? On what charge? Because you do not like his policies or "just because"? Let's say that Taylor-Greene et al do get an impeachment going. You ain't got the goods and you ain't got the juice. Where is the smoking gun? Where is the quid-pro-quo phone call? Where is the treasonous mob attacking the capital? Last but not least where are your votes? With a majority of just >3<, you only need a few sane Reps to vote no and it goes nowhere. Even if it does get through the house, the senate will ignore it.
Meanwhile whilst you are playing silly buggers with revenge investigations, what do you think the voters are seeing? All that talk about inflation and gas prices so what are the Republican house spending their time and effort on? It is not like there was an insurrection unfolding for hours on their TV that obviously needed looking into. Nobody except the MAGAs gives a shit about Hunter's laptop. Shoot they haven't even looked into Jarads Saudi deal yet and he was actually on the government's payroll.
Whilst all this is going on you hope to take back the white house? Just like your red wave took back both houses? Do you want to know how well the GOP will do in 2024? Sit back and see how well they do in electing a speaker.

*The better things for the DOJ to do include:
Maro-lago docs; - Make Hillary's emails look like "locker room talk"
Stop the steal fund fraud - Trump University 2.0 How $250,000,000 of the money idiots like you donated ended up in Trump's pocket.
Trump's business, tax and false accounting civil case; - NY DOJ is looking to fine him $250,000,000... 3" ain't 9" honey no matter how you measure it and 11,000sq ft ain't 30,000 sq ft.
Last but not least...
Jan 6th: - High treason if ever there was a case. Not just the rally and the mob but the "Green Bay sweep" All those fake electors tallies sent to Washington and the conspiracy that went with it.

If that was not enough, Georgia has its own investigation of fake electors and the "I just need 11780 votes" call. This is independent of Washington and my bet for the 1st to indict.
Plus numerous civil cases too many to go into here that so far have NOT been going Trump's way.

So dream away and I look for your dream just before the rapture.

@273kelvin The FBI is very corrupt and refused to look into Hunter’s laptop calling it Russian disinformation just before the 2020 presidential election. That’s why we have an idiot like Biden as president.

@Trajan61 But they did look into it. Durham (I think) made a full report and concluded there was not enough evidence of wrongdoing. What may be worth looking into was how Hunter was fast-track awarded 41 patents by China whilst his dad was in the middle of negotiating a trade deal with them...Oh no wait a minute, that was Ivanka. Oh, and there was the 2 billion Jarad got from the Saudis. I know that I told you about this several months ago so obviously as a man so interested in corruption you must be fully informed of it by now. But I wonder if Trump might have lost by a bigger margin if these things were being investigated during the election.
From what I can see, the present AG is trying very hard NOT to at least appear partisan. The same could not be said for Bill Barr. Ask we speak, the DOJ is still fighting a defamation case on Trump's behalf in NY. (An alleged rape that could be much easier to try if Trump gave his DNA but who are we to prejudge). Whilst Biden has kept his powder very dry on the investigations. Trump all the way through his candidacy, his office and ever since has constantly called for his political opponents, journalists or even comedians to be jailed. He even got the IRS to do deep audits on two opponents as revenge.
You guys bleat on about Hunter's laptop like it is some magic holy grail/get-out-of-jail-free card that absolves Trump of all his crimes. It does not. At best/worst it is very small beer indeed. Not when you stack all of the stunts Trump and his family who were (unlike Hunter) on the government's payroll at the time have pulled.
Now I cannot say for sure what is on that laptop (neither can you) but do you really think it is going to be as important to the American public as a POTUS that only paid a few hundred bucks in tax for years? Operated a massive fraud from his business on bank loans/tax returns. Purpitrated a further massive scam in "Stop the steal fund" Stole classified documents and kept them in an unsecured basement? Tried to strongarm the governor of Georgia into defrauding the electorate. Further tried to defraud the electorate by sending a bunch of fake electors on Jan 6th. Sent a violent insurrectionist mob to storm the capital.
These are all the things that we have seen, not some vague dodgy dealing halfway across the world involving a recovering drug addict.

You guys use Hunter as if you've just been caught screwing your wife's sister and say "But hunny you told me you kissed a guy at your office Xmas party"
