Liberalism is based on the idea of free and autonomous individuals, whereas the "woke" ideologies are based on group identities. In wokism, individuals do not count as such, but only as members of some group: white vs. non-white; cis vs. trans; hetero vs homo....and so on.... People are pigeonholed and then treated according to the label on the pigeonhole, not as individuals.
Freedom? No, it's all destiny.
( My destiny, by the way, is to be a white hetero cis ablebodied male person, aka scum of the earth... 
(The reason why Americans still think that wokism is a subspecies of liberalism is their rather peculiar use of the word "liberal" as a synonym for the political left.)

Speaking of "group think", it is funny how we rarely see any of you cons around here except when one of you posts and then the rest of you follow like lemmings to "like" their post. Conversely, there are frequently differing opinions expressed in the main feed between various factions within the political left, sometimes even within a single left wing faction. Those two scenarios illustrate that your contention is not wholly true, if true at all.
Another good example of the Groupthink ya'll are practicing is that you've clearly agreed not to respond to any of our comments (for which I am highly appreciative). So I looked it up and that is pretty much the definition of Groupthink (capitalized, one word). I bet you're sorry you brought it up!

Grad school, you say. Your comment mentions a "they" but no person or group of people to refer it back to. Would you care to elaborate or does it matter to you whether your comment makes sense?

His profile says he's been to grad school but on the basis of the quality of his comment, I am skeptical. Too bad fishline is not here to incorrectly correct his grammar (not).

Undoubtedly? In fact I am not and have never claimed to be a liberal. In fact I have always loudly disclaimed liberalism, even within this very thread.
So it's in fact YOU who have proven my ongoing claim that cons regularly make unsupported factual claims because they usually have no idea what they're talking about. Almost all of the cons on this website are incredibly fucking dumb, with zero integrity. Occasionally a decent one will show up but they don't last because of the quality of the rest of you lemmings.

You summoned all of your courage to take a shot at liberals and to try to undermine the significance of the concept of "woke" and strung those words together with "freedom" in two sentences, neither of which make any sense. Your time has no value.

My policy is that if it's true, it's okay to say it. Maybe not in a formal setting or in the course of your employment, but under most circumstances maybe it needs to be said.

I don't even use the word woke except as a way of pointing out the way the GOP others everyone.
If we start using it for ourselves then we're letting them give us the language we use to define ourselves, but they already have a definition to the word woke, and it's not the conscious awareness one might associate with enlightenment.
While it originated in the African American community to refer to being conscious of systemic racism and social injustices, it has since been adopted and adapted by different groups with varying meanings and connotations, mostly negative by right wing hate groups.
Frankly it has little or no intrinsic meaning except for one clear point.
Those who use "woke" to describe others are always racist and incapable of being reasoned with.
Woke is the new "N" word.

Even a chicken understands freedom, more often then not to the exclusion of all else, and probably convinced the entire time that nothing else would "get it" concerning freedom. Just like the cowards that use "freedom" and "woke" to demean those they aren't intellectually capable of understanding or empathizing with.
What do I expect from a dumb ass conservative anyway.

I personally don't identify as a liberal. Liberals tend to favor some very bad things. I do identify as a progressive.

Indeed. Although if I'm addressing a conservative I am careful to add that I'm far more sympathetic to liberals than I am to conservatives. Have gotten numerous conservatives out of my way with that little speech. Cons are too caught up in their own treachery to distinguish between liberals and progressives.
