Earlier this week I had to go into the hospital for an overnight stay for an invasive procedure that I'd been putting off. I finally went and got it done and my girlfriend, who knows I'm atheist, told me she would pray for me.

"It's a simple procedure, I'll be fine."

"It doesn't hurt to have a little Heavenly help on your side."

So, I thanked her and kissed her and let it go at that, When you're loved by a religious person and they bring their faith into the relationship, I consider it to be the better part of valor to just be gracious and accept it.

At least she;s not trying to get me to go to church. She seems to know my boundaries.

Can tell you're motivated....

I would have personally fucked her brains out first until she screams of pleasure and at the end lays there totally exhausted, and then make a point asking her, do you think I did this with a little heavenly help?

A prayer doesn't hurt, can be like meditation. Had 5 hardcore christians girlfriends dumped me because I couldn't be saved, that is at another level. Odd time I had a good sleep in church

Sleeping is about all church is good for.

I won’t date a religious person. If you marry her you get to have her religious friends around too…..👀

Of course I’ve been alone for nearly a decade now…..🤔

@Buck That makes both of us. Frankly I'm not ready to leave women alone in my house when I am gone. A missing bank check might not show up immediately and my letters, papers, and e-mails are not to be shared.

No marriage for me. Been there, done that, paid the bill.

@Sgt_Spanky I hear that……

You should have asked her why she didn't pray for you BEFORE you got whatever you needed the procedure for...then you wouldn't have needed the procedure if the "Heavenly" had any say in it at all

I could've but as I said, I think it's best to just be gracious and let it go at that.

@Sgt_Spanky It's not "ungracious" just suggests a better time to pray, before the fact, not after. It seems to work for one football team every game 🙂

They love in their misbegotten way, but they love and care in their own ways. I don't support it or condemn it. It really doesn't change the situation.

That kind of love can kill

Hope you heal well, and quickly.

I was on my feet the same day. It was just an angioplasty. I had multiple clogged veins from a lifetime of being irresponsible.

Milo's Thanksgiving Blessing was one for the ages.

You have to handle this just the way you did or in the end you would not have a relationship with her. You did the right thing.

The things we can overlook for a little trim. Good move, IMHO. 😉

Hope everything works/worked out for you and that you will be/are on the mend.

The trim is nice and it all worked out well. 👍

Seems pretty anodyne to me.
