The 11 Most Absurd things that Catholics actually believe in . I was forced to go to Catholic School and actually had to learn this nonsense .1 A sprinkling of water can save your soul .2 A biological impulse can send you to hell forever.3 Fasting will bring you closer to god.4 A woman can be a Saint ,But not a Priest.6 A Virgin got Pregnant.7 A Foreskin could be Worship-worthy and can get to heaven all on its own.8 God really wants you to take it easy one day a week.8 You can Do anything horrible as long as you’re really, really sorry .9 Transubstantiation Means That every time you receive Communion ,you’re eating Christs.10 Someone ate an apple and now you’re born guilty .11 In an emergency, anyone can give the gift of salvation

I went to catholic school also. Do not forget the Holy Trinity. God is three different beings in one. He is the father, the son, and the holy ghost. He lives in heaven as the father, but on earth he is the son who gets tortured and killed(as Jesus he ask his father why he has abandoned him. He is asking himself why he abandoned his other self.) Then he becomes the holy spirit. He then goes back to heaven.( the sky with the stars.) My grandmother could not explain that crap to me when I was ten years old.

I hear you brother. Turn on something paranormal. They talk a good story like its all accepted and we're right there with them on their comments.

Former Protestant here. The only one I am not familiar with is number 7. Care to elaborate on this one for me, please ?

Yup-there’s a holy forskin. The holy prepus,orJesus’s foreskin,is an actual thing that people celebrate .In fact, the day of the holy Circumcision used to be a thing. But so many different people claimed that they had the actual foreskin that eventually the church barred people from discussing it .Even weider? It was argued that because Jesus’s body ascended into heaven, his foreskin-wherever It may have been at the time -did to .Just a little old foreskin, floating into heaven on its own .Sounds legit

Oh, that's right. Festival of the Circumcision. Lol. I forgot about that.

I have a group of Humanists that I get together with, and last time we had a copy of The Baltimore Catechism. We had more laughs with that.

I want to discuss #8 - I thought that a "mortal" sin meant automatic hell? "Venial" sins are forgivable. So, a mortal sin would be something like murder. A venial sin is something like, say - a lie.

Not that I care really... just making conversation.

I was raised Catholic. This fact that they can sin for six days as long as they go to confession on the 7th still pisses me off.

I'm not Catholic but grew up in an all Catholic neighborhood. I remember vividly going to the beach with my neighbors one Friday in the Summer. On the way home, we stopped at McDonald's. It was my first time ever in a McDonalds. Everybody got filet-o-fish sandwiches but I got a cheeseburger. All the kids told me I was going to go to hell (for eating meat on a Friday). They teased and tormented me. All the way home in the car they would chant, "you're going to hell. you're going to hell". I was traumatized and tried desperately not to start crying, I was just a little boy and the kicker is, the parent driving did nothing to stop this religious bullying. When we pulled into the driveway I ran into my house crying and screaming thinking I was going to burn in hell fire forever for eating a hamburger.

It’s true when they say religion is a form of child abuse

My favorite one is the foreskin deal. Imagine how that conversation goes with old St. Pete at the pearly gates. I'd guess those are the days when St. Pete goes storming in to Gods office demanding a raise.
