Honestly, I have no idea. I was born and raised in So Cal, southeast L.A., went to Compton College in the 60's traveled through Watts everyday for 2 yrs back and forth to work, '69/'70, graduated from Cal a state Northridge. I do not ever recall an incident during any of those years or subsequently; so I guess I'd have to say, no, not as far as I know.

I played competitive basketball from age 11 to age 34. There's a lot of prejudice with respect to skin color, but if you can play, you can prove it within a couple minutes of a real game. The funniest example I can think of is a good friend of mine who was Chinese American. His father was on the Taiwanese men's national basketball team. His mother was on the Taiwanese women's national basketball team. He played on a state championship basketball team. He was 6'4" and could dunk the ball in a variety of different ways. When he was in grad school in NYC and played in pick-up games there, he was referred to as "The Chump"

The white person isn't being shot dead for being "black while sitting, walking, or eating," isn't being arrested for sitting down in a restaurant, isn't having people calling the police to report a "break in" for simply moving into his own apartment, as just happened with a famous black man.

I was down in Georgia pre Civil Rights Act of 1964. There was a movie playing nearby and I decided to go watch it. The woman in the ticket booth refused to sell me a ticket because this movie theater was a "Negro only" movie theater.
