Completely ignoring the fact that bananas in their sellable form are unrecognizable from actual natural bananas, are we? Idiots!

The bottom button peels better than the stem and the stem is a better handle and finally it's easier to discard the awful tasting nib. (If you are like me, right after realizing the superior new method, you will revert to habit.)

I am told that your way, is the way most animals open one, it is only humans who like to mush the end up and create a mess.

I like my bananas a tiny bit green. I take my knife and cut about half way through the base of the stem before peeling the skin back. That way I don't have to force it or mush it up. What if I don't have a knife, you ask? I ALWAYS have a knife.

@Flyingsaucesir Yes, I'm at home 99% of the time, there's always a knife at the ready.
But, I'm a lady finger fan, not cavendish. I knife nick them, halfway, and rip in half. Pinch sides, and squeeze up from the bottom. No hands on the fruit, no peeling open, nor inside of peel exposed, and no getting it on my nose, chin and cheeks. 😁
