I have heard religious people argue that Stephen Hawking admitted that there must be god.
But all I have read is ... "Hawking concludes with his most direct, personal answer to the universal question: It's my view that the simplest explanation is that there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate."
Calling the Bible 'the good book' is like calling cancer 'the good disease'...
That's a nice quote. The thing is, I cannot find any evidence that Hawking actually said those words.
It is disrespectful to Hawking (or anyone who is no longer around) ) to make up words as a quote and pretend that he said it, if that is the case.
It’s my view that the simplest explanation is that there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realisation: there is probably no heaven and afterlife either. I think belief in an afterlife is just wishful thinking. There is no reliable evidence for it, and it flies in the face of everything we know in science. I think that when we die we return to dust. But there’s a sense in which we live on, in our influence, and in our genes that we pass on to our children. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe, and for that I am extremely grateful. -Stephen Hawking
When religious believers say that their god even knows the number of hairs on their head they are taking it too far. One of the biggest problems with mankind is that we think we are special and act that way as well. The universe does not know you or give a crap about you, but you did come from the universe. A day will come that you must go back.
Very good.
When i hear xtians refute his claims, not one of them have achieved anything noteworthy close to what he has contributes to the world of science.
