Typical major party bullshit, which both major parties do, not just the Repubs. Instead of taking common sense action, on something like economic problems, or in this case, gun control, they offer up the usual culture war bullshit, to distract from the real issue or problem, and their followers swallow it up, like pigs eating shit, instead of realizing they are being conned with snake oil substitutes for real action and improvement on the status quo.

I contend that that degree of religious fanaticism means that such a person cannot honestly take the oath to support and abide by the Constitution. Thus, lying to get 'into' government (where they are unfit ethically and morally for office) should be a crime or otherwise society/government must be able to readily remove such psychopaths.
