Same. Kids today don't know what it's like to play in the woods, ride bikes, or just do any of the fun things we did as kids. I have a lot of kids, but I have to "barter" them to go outside to play. "If you play outside for an hour, you'll get 1 more hour of "electronics time." It's really sad...I couldn't WAIT to get out of the house on the weekends especially and just ROAM, PLAY IN THE MOUNTAINS, etc.,

I wouldn't trade kick ball, hide N seek, slip N slide, burrowing tunnels in the snow, shucking corn on the porch with my grandma or reading a good book for social media as a kid. I think kids of today have been cheated.

Me too, because I remember in pre-school at nap time, I shoved pebble up my nostril, and I had to get the teacher to remove it. Lol.

The social media doesn't worry me as much as the phones do. If you had to go to a desktop to use it , social media would be fine with me. Bringing it everywhere is to me the bigger anoyance.

I agree. We did not need it then. 95% of the time, we do not need it today.

I fully agree with your comment. Our children and grandchildren have missed out on discovering the wonders of life in a natural environment in favour of images on a computer screen or smart phone. It has changed the way people communicate and think, to such a degree it has become the new reality for communication. How long before virtual reality totally replaces actual reality? Probably sooner than we think. The brave new world looks scarier every day. The things of science fiction are rapidly becoming science fact.

Yep, I'd rather not have had video evidence of all the stupid and sometimes illegal things I did back then.
