While the rest of the world seems to have completely forgotten about them, the families of Israeli hostages and thousands of supporters marched towards Jerusalem, increasing pressure on the government to secure the captives' release nearly six weeks after Hamas militants abducted them and took them into Gaza.

Indeed the media is clearly biased in both directions.. We Americans receive a well scrubbed version of the news. Access to other countries coverage can be disturbing. NPR had a piece on a Thai hostage who works on Israeli farms making 5 times what he would in Thailand. His wife awaits his safe return. Women, children, animals, environment suffer. Damn Y chromosome.

Well... I would not say that the rest of the world has forgotten the hostages. Among them are some (seven) with French nationality and their families here are putting pressure on President Macron to do more to get them released

Glad to hear it. I should've made it clear that those hostages, regardless of their nationalities, are hardly mentioned by news media around the world (unless their dead bodies were found, which then makes news - too little, too late for their families), or by protesters who protest whatever they think they're protesting for or against.
