A few weeks back we had a cold snap with snow so after driving home from work I swapped my pants for old warm and comfortable insulated pants that I patched with fabric scraps that did not adequately match the worn out fabric, put on an old army field jacket and walked to the YMCA to enjoy a work-out and time in the sauna. Walking back home I had to cross one of the busiest streets in town. While waiting at the stoplight a Native American driver rolled down his window, poked his head out and loudly proclaimed a heartfelt "Stay warm brother." I politely waved/saluted back and he drove off when the light changed.

That was a stark reminder of how much I looked homeless and just how nice I have it as I was walking to my warm home; and how hard some others have it as some are without a home to keep them warm.
