The idea of rubbing ones spit into someone else's eyes hardly seems like a recipe to enable them to see again. Idiotic stories are the Bible's stock in trade.

It was more than spit. He made mud with his spit and it went into the guys eye.

@DenoPenno I'm sure the spit and the mud worked synergistically, not unlike the Entourage Effect!!!
