The correlation between religion and sport goes deeper. Both are mostly practised on Sunday. They both often rely on blind and unreasonable faith. And which one you adhere to is mostly determined by geography and tribal/family tradition.
Sometimes the link can be even closer, as in Northern Ireland or Glasgow where teams are either Catholic or protestant. The two Glasgow teams are Celtic - Catholic and Rangers - protestant. A famous Celtic manager Jock Stien was asked "If you had two great forwards ready to be signed, one Catholic and the other protestant but you could only sign one, which one would you sign?"
Without hesitation, Jock answered "The protestant one, coz Rangers would never sign up the Catholic"

So many teams, so many choices, what's a god to do??

Well, that is if there are 4 teams in the play-offs. In baseball, with the three leagues and the wild card, there is only a 1/8 chance of God's plan including your win.

Being great at a sport does not equate with being great at thinking.

Gee, and I thought it was because of what the players on the field did. I guess maybe now, the Vegas oddsmakers, need to have a daily report on how God or JC is doing that day, as far as being out of the lineup with a groin pull, or some other issue, lol?
