The political right in America has always flirted with dictators, fallen in love with authoritarians. MAGA is not really a new phenomenon.
To them freedom means no government interference, except when it comes to a woman's own body, or those that love the same gender, or hold a different point of view, or........Don't ask for help Abbott.

Basically, freedom for them to hate anything they want and take away freedom from anything they don't like.
They love their freedom but aren't willing to share it.
