Every year the local Rabi must order the Hanukkah menorah to be dragged out of storage and be displayed in that prominent position between the city's casino and the city admin building and across the Braille path.
Basker have written into their basking licence that they must stay clear of that path by 1 metre (a measurement used by atheists).
So I went to complain. Within a day ot two the provisional Braille path was installed, probably at taxpayers' expense.
The following year the stupid metal thing was put into the same spot, but this time I didn't need to remind the city admin. The Braille tiles were put in place simultaneously.
Nobody seem to have the brilliant yet cheaper idea of moving the thing by just a 1 metre and a half.

The irony is that the same city administration puts these stickers but obviously never sent one to the local Rabi.

I work for an organization of blind people. It took me a few moments to realize that the regular Braille path is the darker black straight line that runs near the right of photo. The yellow is the Detour Braille Path. Wow this is one of the craziest things I've ever seen.

They only put it place because I complained ... But the following year they put the silly thing in the same place and simultaneous put the detour in place .. Total madness ... There is ample space to put this thing just a few metres or yards away from the Braille path

whats your problem with hannukah menorahs? also, why would they do it in may?

Old photos ...the problem is the location smack bang on the Braille path

Oh, for fuck's sake.

There's probably some ridiculous city ordinance that says it has to be exactly X distance from this or that, thus forcing its stupid location.

No ... Quite in the contrary .. The bylaws stipulate that the Braille path, for obvious reasons, must not be obstructed.

So, they misplaced it a bit? I don’t understand what the problem is.

Considering that their intelligence is misplaced by a good deal further than that, I can see your point.

They misplace it every tear thus obstructing the Braille track ,,, if you can't see the problem, you should apply for a job with our local council

You don't see the problem nor do the ningnongs who put it smack bang on the Braille path. Sure the blind won't see the problem either, but they will feel the impact when they run straight into it.
