One of my favorite musics to listen to is film scores. This drives my friends and family batty when I'm in a long car ride listening to the film score from jurassic park or lord of the rings or pirates of the Caribbean so it's become my guilty pleasure so to speak.

Another guilty pleasure music genre of mine is Riverdance, bagpipes, or sea shanty.

What unusual guilty pleasure music genre do you enjoy?

I like many forms as I was an audio technician for many years in the live entertainment industry. Guilty pleasures are many but "non-vocal chill" is great for my motorcycle trips and I like to listen to "alt-Country" to unwind at bed time. In general though I like everything from Rock, Rap,Metal, Soul, Big Band, Rat Pack, Classic Rock, Blues, Punk, New Wave , Reggae and Classical.

I like Barry Manilow, but I'm a manly man, I swear. One of my favorites film scores.

My guilty pleasures are "The Best of the Monkees," "The Archies," and "The Partridge Family" Yeah, commercial 60's pop from made-up bands. Though The Monkees' music had some very cool songwriters, and a lot of that music is prettty catchy.

@Paragon69 Most of them. Also Neil Diamond, Carole Bayer Sager, Neil Sedaka, Ellie Greenwich

Everyone seems to share a love for film scores, but ever since i was a little kid back in my NES days I've had an affinity for video game music. There are a few current and previous generation game soundtracks that i really like, but a majority of my favorites are from Nintendo 64 games and earlier. It's fascinating to me the kind of music that was created on such limited resources.

I have the soundtracks to skyrim and dragon age and final fantasy.

Final Fantasy always has great music (except for XIII, in my opinion) and it's a tie between VI and VII as far as my favorite from that series. My current gen favorite soundtrack belongs to Dark Souls though.

I thoroughly enjoy film scores too.
From Jerry Goldsmith to Hans Zimmer. It feels endless.
Check out November by Max Ricther, used in the show The Leftovers.

I share yours, Natural Born Killers, Desperado, Repoman are some of my faves. Stromae is a French artist whom I really enjoy. I also like old vinyl records, the kind that need the hand cranking player.

  • The Shadow (1994)
  • Star Wars: Force Awakens
  • Superman: The Movie
  • The Rocketeer

yes! Me too! My Dad and I used to listen to Dances with Wolves while driving around in the mountains, my brother got so sick of it, ha ha! One of my favorite movie scores is The Shipping News. If you like Irish-y sounding stuff, you'll love it. I also love Thomas Newman and James Horner. Lord of the Rings is awesome. Fried Green Tomatoes, that oboe... The English Patient is beautiful. So many good ones!

The film 'Cadillac Records' has a wonderful soundtrack of the 50's which was the beginning of pop music. Songs are from: Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Etta James, Howlin Wolf and many more. Songs are newly recorded by various artists including Beyonce. Based on a true story.

I would almost consider film music to be a hobby. While John Williams is king, a neck and neck second would be Bernard Herrmann. Also, Maurice Jarre, Dimitri Tiomkin, James Horner, Danny Elfman, Ennio Morricone, and so many others. I highly recommend a few brief samples:

You should try the soundtrack to last of the Mohicans now that's a soundtrack

I listen to it too it's really good

That has to.be the most awesome sound track..

Wow it nice to here someone else likes the same music that I like.Thank you for sharing. I have always loved film scores. Sometimes the film score is the best part of the movie. Music by Vangelis, John Williams, and James Horner are great. I love Bagpipe and all Celtic music. When I need to relax, Enya's and Loreena McKennitt's music does it for me.

I love them too. My favorite is The Last of the Mohicans. It is so beautiful. I also love bagpipes and Irish and Scottish music. Riverdance is amazing too.
