Is anyone else loving the footage from Kilauea? I'm not celebrating someone getting injured or happy people's home and lives are destroyed. But I stand in awe of Earth's power and beauty. I've been having my 5yo watch the coverage on the news. I think it's fascinating! 🌋

It's devastating, but truly awesome in its magnitude and display. I'm mesmerized!!

It's a growing island, and we are fortunate to get to see it. 🙂

I want to see it with my own eyes....

Mother Nature at her finest!

@Funnygirl175, I feel you, I'm down in Kalapana. Everyone is so scared and devastated. I see Creation and beauty. The ground trembles and quakes, it cracks open and spews lava and gasses. Meanwhile the sky is impossibly blue, small clouds drift by as birds sing and mongoose play. It's awesome I feel blessed being here to wittness this. How many people on the planet can say they have seen rocks being born?

Oh my bad, I thought you lived here too. Anyway, it is awesome, I'm 4 miles from Leilani Estates Subdivision, seeing it all live.

It's truly spectacular.
I am, however, really glad that I'm watching it all from an extremely safe distance.

I understand completely and agree!

I am also fascinated by it. It's affecting such a small portion of the Island, and it's causing a lot of devastation but they are kind of used to it. I sometimes watch the FB live videos and the Christians are praying like is the end of the world, lol! I love science and nature. ❤

Wouldn't miss it.

I find it hilarious that people build on a friggin’ volcano and then act surprised and offended when it erupts. It’s like building in a flood zone and then trying to make a claim with FEMA when you loose everything. Oh, wait a second! Isn’t that Malibu?

It's amazing!

That IS what earth and nature does.

Its humbling I would say. Nature is much bigger than humans. And religion is just an insignificant speck of silliness imo.

Nature knows how to put on a show that all talent contests pale to.

Me too, funnygirl. I went to the big island in my early 20's and went with a group of friends down to where you could see the lava flowing into the ocean. It was the best part of that trip I'd say.

Love this song and Damien Rice in general!

I got friends in Hawaii just as I had in Puerto Rico.

It is truly fascinating.

Never gets old. Our living planet. One had better respect Mother Nature.
