Something else that has occurred to me. In the early Christian writings, Adam had a wife prior to Eve: Liluth. Liluth was made out of the same soil as Adam in the Garden of Eden. As such, having been made out of the same soil as Adam, Lilith was considered equal to Adam in all aspects. Adam, not liking Lilith's freedom and independence appealed to God. Inconsolable, God finally relented and turned Lilith out of the Garden. Eve was then formed out of one of Adam's rib, therefore making Eve obligated to Adam for her existence. I may have a few specific details slightly off, but in essence thus is my understanding. I believe there is one very small mention in Genesis, such that is often overlooked. It is rare that any Christian that I have ever known has knowledge of Lilith. There were writings about Lilith before the official construction of the Bible in the 300's ADE. The early theologians chose to leave her out (Patriarchism)

Yes, yes, yes. Why do we , as atheists, spend sooo much time debating christian mythology?

It is fun.

@agnosticc knock yourself out...

@agnosticc I get frustrated with people obsessing over this book. Its not good literature, it's caused innumerable social ills and even people who claim to not believe any longer still go on and on and on about it. Can't we, as atheists, move on to more constructive topics instead of rehashing this same tired pointless nonsense all the time?

It's not so much debating as voicing questions or observations one finds difficult bringing up in a theist society. Genreally not received well. Checking to see if everybody else sees the same contradictions or introduce new ones to those who weren't aware.

@t1nick like I said, knock yourself out.
