The neighbor kid (25 years ago) yelling “Cream man! Cream man!”

It reminds me of how I used to buy these very tiny firecrackers, and then throw them off a balcony at cars and stuff while I was in elementary school. It was good times.

Owh, we used to drive down the seafront and chuck them out of the car windows, great fun!

The first thing I think of is Eddie Murphy's bit about the ice cream man. Second, is how rarely we kids were allowed to purchase anything from the ice cream truck. My dad worked for Shamrock Dairy, so we ALWAYS had at least 6 different kinds of ice cream in the freezer, so my mom thought it was silly to buy novelties from a truck!

Couldn't he find something better to play?

The last time I heard that sound - I said to myself - I didn't hear you once last summer - it's now the middle of winter - I'm not going out into the cold to get something cold - what a dumba@@.

Screwball!!

My first memories of ice cream vans was the one that stopped at the end of my little terrace of workers' cottages in Stanley, near Wakefield.

I'd always have a Screwball — soft ice cream and strawberry sauce in a plastic cone-shaped pot with a bubblegum ball in the bottom. Wonderful! ?

First thing?? Ohh fu.. ice cream

I would wonder what the hell.is going on, because we don't have ice cream trucks where I live.

2

Goddamnit why am I stuck driving this stupid car on this stupid delivery when I could be getting ice cream. I wonder if I could flag him down. Ah, damn, I'm to broke for ice cream anyway.

Ever since hearing this song, it's all I think about.

I was a day sleeper for 32 years so the first thing I think of is murder, also curiosity, who thought "pop goes the weasel" was a good choice for the truck music. There were 4 trucks that went through my neighborhood.

When he drives around the neighborhood at 10pm, is he really selling ice cream?! Lol

Dreamcicle.

Have I got enough money to buy a bar? Of course I do now...but when I was a kid money was the first thing I thought of when the ice cream truck came up my block.

He is out of the flavor I want.

Weirdos, junk food.

Try to get money from Mom..but I can't cause she's dead..

Today, the tune was the theme song to an old show, 'Captain Pugwash' it made me laugh as it got banned for all the adult jokes they had incorporated into it! Master Bates was a main character for example lols, have never watched as an adult, but should really as liked it as a kid and was too innocent to understand the double entendres 🙂 Ah found an episode on YouTube

no can't find any naughties in that one.

do I have anything in freezer?

Lived in the country, no ice cream man. Wouldn't have had anyway ☹

1

That I don't carry cash and get no ice cream 😟

1

I haven't heard one of those in at least a decade. I'm not sure if there is even a city large enough to support an ice cream truck within 100 miles of me.

That the witch is dead!......Sorry that would be ding dong. Never mind.

@SonOfABeach Back at you. ☺
