A completely relevant question, I believe!! I have 2 categories. 1 - respect, reverence. In this category, these are my top 3.
Now - my second category is entertainment. Which Batman is the most entertaining. These are my choices.
These are my favorites, what are yours?
All of your choices are good.
Can't answer the who but . . .
My favorite Batman movies are:
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Just fun: The Lego Batman movie (3d)
My favorite is Michael Keaton...those eyebrows...I did enjoy the Adam West batman for the corny lessons to be learned...and all of the "Pow Pow" bubbles....
Didn’t George Clooney play Batman?
He did with Chris O'Donell as Robin and Arnie as Dr. Freeze
1: Christian Bale - he was the first to make me feel like the Bruce scenes were still Batman.
2: Michael Keaton - he took a big risk going to action from a mostly comedy background, he knew it could tank his career but he boldly accepted the challenge. He’s the reason we have so many movies based on comics now, had it been a flop, I’m not sure we’d be experiencing the renaissance we have now.
3: Ben Affleck - I know many will disagree but he had a huge act to follow after Bale. I’m enjoying an older and more experienced Batman because we hadn’t seen that in the movies yet. I think he captures the Frank Miller Batman quite well.
Also, BatDad.
Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker. They should retire Batman for 20 years after that series. Same with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
I agree about Heath Ledger, not about Christian Bale. And no one will ever be the Wolverine besides Hugh Jackson! It's a fools parrell to substitute anyone else. But you know they will eventually because they are out of original ideas. That's why we have all these reboots and redos! It's pathetic!
Adam West on both counts
As long as he brings the Bat Shark Repellant.
Bat Dad
Out-of control hilarious!! Thanks for sharing!! Hahahahaha!
It has to be Adam west. He knew the premise was ridiculous and pitched his performance accordingly. I do rate the more gothic Tim Burton Batman, and the gritty Chris Nolan one very highly, but neither Keaton nor Bale beat the sheer joy and warmth of Adam West and those old TV episodes.
On a side note, Jack Nicholson is my favourite joker.
Christian Bale. The Christopher Nolan directed films were the most true to the dark nature of the original Batman comics.
Least favorite would have to be Adam West. Campy fun, but a schlocky, watered down version of Batman geared towards a 60's television audience.
That's exactly what it was supposed to be! You may be a duffus! I'm not sure!
