This is why universal healthcare which makes hospitals not for profit is the way to go. Hospitals were not for profit until Reagan changed it.

The definitely and expectations of what a nonprofit does, will need to be updated. Lots of corporate gifts have been given since healthcare left the fold in the 70s. [thehealthcareblog.com]

I still think it will be an issue. They still get oayed for their services. The way they get payed for which services and how they are documented is big busines and effects patient care.
