Almost looks like some very, very poorly timed sarcasm..... Especially when looking at responses in the form of obits for other notorious leaders of mass murder/

@altschmerz , in these days of Trump it's often hard to tell. Odds are just as good they gave the obit to a third string writer who didn't know the name and only picked up on "Muslim Cleric" in the bio and ran with that. What ever the intention there's probably one more staff writer on the unemployment line today.

Hooooo boy, they really did not think that one through.
Imagine the editorial meeting in the offices of the Washington Post

"Okay boys and girls how di we describe this bastard?"
"Erm Muslim Terrorist leader?"
"To controversial, may lay us open to accusations of Islamophobia"
"Mad old bastard?
"Ageist"
"Terrorist madman"
"Sexist"
"Chubby Santa look alike?"
"Are you crazy...Fat shaming!"
"Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi"
"Abu? Abu? Isn't that the monkey from Aladdin? You want Disney suing us???!!!"
