I'm surprised they didn't just tell him to leave, call the cops, and then wait silently and passively until he either left or the cops showed up and let them escort the asshole out. Trying to talk to him was a waste of time and only encouraged him to stay and have the last word. It also allowed additional risk of him infecting the staff with his yelling and spitting.

I deal with this kind of thing daily in my town. I only go to the store once a week and always by myself, masked, and I almost always get cussed out by someone because I'm usually the only one in the store apart from the employees that's wearing a mask. Our town voted down mask mandates twice and has now canceled the third meeting because of anti-mask protesters.

Where I live just about all businesses are requiring masks for customers, even tho my Repub governor won't order masks in public or allow local governments to require them. The only stores I've seen that don't require them for customers are grocery stores, probably because they are too chickenshit to confront customers and deal with the hassles. It's possible they are afraid of losing customers over it, but some customers are worth losing if they endanger the healthy of your employees and other customers. And the grocery stores probably know that most customers would support a mask requirement. If all the grocery stores required them, then the customer would have to suck it up and comply or else order their groceries for pickup or delivery. Too fucking bad if they refuse to mask up and have to go those routes.

Speaking of satanic masks, my ex-husband was an art teacher. He had students do molds of their faces. After the molds hardened, the kids painted them.

Christian parents complained to the school principal, calling the children's masks "satanic." Terry was forbidden to make masks as an art project.

It really stinks that we have to depend on corporate America to start implementing mask restrictions because our Repub governors and prez are not willing to do it.
