I have not yet mastered this art and I doubt I ever shall. Having a rather upright and flat windshield may help. By sound alone can you identify the type of insect that hits it. No fair looking at contents.

). But he didn't consider that Jeeps tend to have more vertical windshields.
I'm pretty sure he got the first rock chip on the way home from picking it up.
I don't know how much effort he's gone to since to maintain it.
