Republican Oklahoma City mayor endorses Harris. It seems that even in deep red Oklahoma, some Republicans have a spine!

Some Republicans are personally turned off by Trump's character and rhetoric but they are still and will remain Republican with all Republican issues like religion into politics, abortion bans etc. that Democrats and Progressives are fundamentally are against. Let's make no mistake, they are not on our side.
The Republican party is no longer that, it is the MAGA party. It is not conservative and not fiscally responsible. It is the cult of a wannabe Mussillini. It is just a little heartwarming to see some of them see it and say so.
I'm gratified to see that not all Republicans are Nazi traitors. Not enough, but at least not all of them. I can't believe how fucked up our society is that so few people will stand up to being conned. Or that their hatred of non-whites exceeds the self-interest and the survival of the country. Deplorable? Yes. And sick and pathetic. And in serious need of therapy, a lobotomy or a bullet.
I'll settle for any of those three being the means to restoring our democracy. As they are the ones wanting and provoking a civil war. It's up to us to fight and finish it, if it comes to that. Pacifism is not going to work against them... I'm guessing that he was around when Tim McVeigh blew up the building in his town, and slaughtered lots of people, so he knows right wing fascism when he sees it, and cares enough to sound the warning, that might have something to do with his stand...
McVeigh was a psycho nazi not much different (if at all) from Trump's Jan 6ers. I hope you're not comparing me to him...
@racocn8 I'm comparing McVeigh to Trump, as far as being a right wing fascist. And I brought up McVeigh, because I'm sure that this OK mayor is well aware of the history of the OKC bombing.. And the three I was referring to, are the means of therapy, lobotomies, or bullets, being used to restore our democracy, from these assholes.. Clear enough, Howard?
Hopefully this will cost him his seat as Mayor but his endorsement will have no affect on how Oklahoma votes as Trump will carry Oklahoma heavily as always!
I have to ask you, does it not give you any pause when you see hundreds of senior Republicans endorsing Harris? Bear in mind that many are former Trump staff including John Kelly. Also, the many more Republicans like Bush who cannot bring themself to openly endorse Harris yet will not support Trump? And then there are the obvious two-faced opportunists like Graham, Vance, Tucker and Cruz who privately revile him whilst publically supporting him?
@richiegtt This is what makes such endorsements so significant. It is one thing for someone to toe the party line, and another to jump upon a bandwagon. Both of which might keep or improve their political careers. When guys like David Holt choose to come out and endorse Harris, they know it is political suicide and I dare say he will also receive his share of consequential death threats. So there has to be a motivation that supersedes political ambition. Now if Holt was an isolated case then he could be dismissed as a disgruntled "never Trumper". The fact that he is very far from alone in his actions should give any responsible voter pause. After all, these are party insiders who are likely to know Trump firsthand.
The least that can be said here is that this is good news. On the other end of things I saw a big speech by Tucker Carlson where his talk was "Daddy's Coming Home" and he was cheered right and left. Of course, daddy was Trump and he is going to whip everyone. Girls. boys, and everyone because we have all been bad. It was enough to make you puke!
We all know what a two-faced slimeball Tucker is by the emails in the Dominion case.
