News flash: It doesn't. A 401K is just the sorry-ass substitute capitalists foisted on the rest of us when they took away the security of pension plans, so that they, the actual capitalists, could save a buck.
Another confusion is to think running your own small business makes you a capitalist. Again, it doesn't qualify, not until you can afford to hire others to run it for you, and you merely oversee their work.
Yes, there are capitalists in America, for sure, some likely on this site. But it is not nearly as many as the number who THINK they are capitalists.

If you have to do any work except manage your money, you are not a capitalist. Mitt Romney is a classic example, if you have less money than Mitt, you're probably not a capitalist. His father actually worked for a living as a senior manager that gave Mitt the money to do nothing.
