Gideon always comes when I call him. Every time. 'Course, there are also times when he calls me.

I remember the cats of my childhood came running at the sound of the electric can opener. Other than that they generally ignored us when we called.

A cat that I sat for two weeks last September was fantastic. She would come from two house blocks away even if it wasn't feeding time.

Mine would come half the time, mostly if she heard me in the kitchen and thought she could beg food, or if I went into my bedroom mid-day, which signaled we were taking a reading break or a nap, either of which meant she could lay on me.

I don't "call" so much as I shake the treat jar and whisper psss psss pssss. Usually gets them running towards me.
