He has on guests that share the same hobbies as him. Celebrities. I'm not sure how specific you want. Overall I would rather than listen to to a man speak his mind about whatever the topic at the time is, rather than listen to a suite in a "news" station reading from a teleprompter.

I'm not a regular watcher of Rogan, but I like him.
A few days ago I watched the entire 2.5hr video. I'm not a fan of Shapiros' religion, but I liked the ENTIRE show (from both sides).

@Krish55 In the handful of times I have watched, I don't recall any dislikes.
I think he interviews a WIDE variety of folks of ALL walks of life, he adds his own pov (he has had an interesting life). I have not heard him insist that is pov is the right/only one.
I take him at his word here :
I kinda thought he was a douche long before covid existed. His response was actually pretty fair though.
