Another reason to shop local when possible is keeping your money from paying these corporate slimeballs. Yesterday I made a sizable purchase at a local shop and the woman (owner) that assisted me will pay her employee to install and feed her family, I may have paid a couple of percent more but any issues will be resolved with a phone call. If that phone call was necessary she would be the one answering the phone and I wouldn't be placed on hold. As a bonus she appreciated the business.
