Who's watching the debate? I'm not, I can just get the highlights tomorrow (and the next day).

Hell yeah!! That's for your alternative by the way. As far as the debates go it's actually an auction with an already picked sale and they're just trying to get us to figure out which one they've already picked. You can bet it's whoever they gave the most mic time to of course.

You got it!

Probably not. The two most anti-corporate candidates got the most time:

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren: 18:33
Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders: 17:45
Democratic South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg: 14:07
Democratic Montana Gov. Steve Bullock: 10:59
Former Democratic Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke: 10:58
Democratic Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar: 10:49
Former Democratic Maryland Rep. John Delaney: 10:31
Democratic Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan: 9:47
Author Marianne Williamson: 8:52
Former Democratic Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper: 8:49

@jerry99 IMO Warren is anti-corporate in self description only. I'm surprised Bernie got that much time though. I stand corrected.

I tried, but found it impossible.

The fact they won't put all the front runners together makes them useless to me

Eventually there are two primary human approaches to life: competition or cooperation.

We seem to have been persuaded that competition is the pre-eminent way - and now apply it to absolutely everything.

That’s unfortunate given how much better the results of free cooperation are. The issue of course is that there are many fewer opportunities for the greedy bastards to accumulate all the power and eat all the pies.

I’m getting pretty pissed off at the circular firing squad approach to picking a presidential candidate. And I can’t stand the reporters heavy-handed attempts at moderation. All that aside, it hurts me to see so many excellent people doing such a shitty job of convincing people they should be president. I still think Elizabeth Warren has the best shot. I also think the younger candidates need to develop a great deal more experience before they tackle the presidency. Sigh but nobody asked for my opinion.

My brother and my cousin (who works in Washington DC btw) both favor Elizabeth Warren. I have issues with her, but she's better than some. I'd vote for her.

Sorry you're not watching

Progressives who care deeply for our nations future are paying close attention to every voice.

I'm not suggesting you don't care deeply; I'm suggesting that those who are watching - in general - care more, and want to be a better educated voter.

Media highlights of the debates are just that - highlights.

Watching each debate is an education for anyone who participates...and an educated voter is more valuable than a voter who's just viewed "highlights".

Are they saying anything worth hearing?

@altschmerz To me....they are.

But....

I respect your non-interest.

Some of us are more concerned about our candidates than others. That doesn't make you less of a devotee to progressivism. Some of us have the time to watch, some don't. It's not a cut and dry issue.

@Robecology heh heh, okay, you sound a little condescending here. "Some of us are more concerned about our candidates than others"? Really?

I posted this before, but obviously you didn't bother to read it: [inc.com]

They lob softball questions at the candidates and don't say anything of consequence: [wsws.org]

And the debates don't include everybody. [openthedebates.org]

But some of us are more concerned about real issues rather than cheap talking points than others. That doesn't make you less of a devotee to progressivism. Some of us read alternative media and have unorthodox opinions, some don't. It's not a cut and dry issue.

@altschmerz This is simple to me...The more you listen and watch the better you know them.

Stop taking this personally.

I'm not being condescending....

you're convinced that you shouldn't watch...good for you.

I'm convinced that I should watch. I think it's valuable. You don't.

That doesn't make either of us better.
