Listening to Jane Fonda on MSNBC in an interview and she was talking about how the protests of the 1960's and 1970's were local to the US. We are now protesting on a global level. I was hit by this as I had not thought of this as going from local to global. So if this is correct then the conflict will be over as soon as we all figure out that greed does not work. I think most of the world has figured this out. Thoughts?

OK, love this, had not seen it. Does it strike anyone else strange, that the countries that most espouse their democratic values, actually get worse each election? What does this say about those voting, we all know about political donations and the owned media, but the average voter is causing us all sorts of problems.

I have to wonder how much Murdoch media has to do with it. Australia UK and America with our extreme right-wing governments who are not even pretending to address homelessness, jobs, climate and poverty. While many European countries, without the influence of right-wing media, are thriving on fairer government policy.

@MsDemeanour I believe a lot to do with it, we had the Anti Adani convoy which was high profile and yet received no positive coverage, the only coverage was on staged attacks by the pro mining element of the mining towns.

@Rugglesby Let's hope people remember the bushfires come next election. I think Albo should've been more vocal but he doesn't seem to do slanging matches.

@MsDemeanour I know what you mean, I hate politics and all, but he doesn't take the fight to them, and last election Labor was almost as bad as the coalition as far as climate policies go, they were building a massive pipeline for fracked gas.

@Rugglesby Labor are bought and paid for by the same companies who 'own' the Libs.
