Louisiana Pastor Arrested for Holding Services with Over 1,100 Attendees

Rev. Tony Spell of the Life Tabernacle Church, who repeatedly defied state orders prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people by holding large church services with over 1100 attendees, was charged with six misdemeanor counts of violating a state ban on non-essential gatherings.

Rev. Spell claims God spoke to him personally, and told him that “the virus is politically motivated” and to keep his church open, and that’s exactly what he intends to do.

Now that’s interesting, because God just spoke to me about an hour ago, and told me during this pandemic, it’s best to avoid close contact with anyone stupid enough to believe con artists like Rev. Spell.

he's part of a very "charismatic" branch of the Pentecostal church. I knew a pair of twins in the navy from Zwolle, La. whose father was a minister in that same group. I was the best man at one of their weddings. They believe in a whole range of "gifts" that the holy goat will bless them with upon entering their bodies. I am told they might speak in tongues, heal others, see the future or a variety of other mystical powers. All I saw was people speaking gibberish. They're just the pentecostal version of the southern baptist branch I left in Odessa, Tx. in the 70's.

That might have been just to avoid the smell of unwashed, brain-dead bodies.
