Hi ya gang, how are ya all....
2 days of planning and some work. Cleaning up the compost area and a load to take to the garden trellis. Last 2 years were peas on it this year will be sweet potatoes. I am fortunate to have easily forked dirt here. Of course it is always getting home compost in it.
I do not till anything. It is far easier gardening by just digging a small trench and adding composted material. I change the garden layout every year so all the dirt gets reworked with compost. So the digging i use a heavy tined pitchfork, they slide into the ground easily. And i like fennel

You are reminding me that I need a couple new garden tools! Mine have been used many years and are starting to show it.

I have a favorite old triangular hoe that is seen a better day and i took a field hoe and a right angle grinder and made a nice strong one. Notice the the wings, one is pointed and one has a 1/2" blade for picking out different size weeds and the 3/4 " blade at the tip for heavier rooted issues which also adds 2 more points on that for nipping small stuff. It is a pretty efficient hoe.
