A little Sweet Victory despite those thieving mongrels who stole the rest of my rose cuttings that I had 'borrowed' from gardens around my area and were actually taking root, etc.
They stole what must have close at hand but missed the best ones, my cutting of a rare and expensive thornless Rose, that is doing quite well and this one pictured below.
I just went to set up the drip watering system towater the bed where this cutting has been planted and noticed that is now in bloom, probably due to me giving a feed of Blood and Bone mixture to go after at the bottom of the hole in which planted it.
Is it me, my eyes or wishful thinking but does this rose have a somewhat purple colour to it?
I'd say it has a definite purple color. It's beautiful. In my attempt at roses this year, I bought one online called Fragrant Plum that supposed to have a purple hue, although I think lighter that yours. It didn't bloom this year, so I'll hope for next Spring.
when Spring starts and the roses start to set leaf buds, give 1 half of a tea cup of Blood and Bone mixture power, sprinkled around their base and then water in gently.
Warning, IF you have dogs or cats TRY to keep them away from the Blood and Bone, they love it but you will NOT like the "exhaust' gas perfume they leave behind them, it is really bad on the sinuses.

Posted by KateOahuThis morning I went to a class for making a terrarium with native plants at the Waikiki Community Center, which is about three blocks from where I live.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
