I've never seen one.

They're common here in the Midwest. They love to pollinate, especially Goldenrod. They also eat aphids.
Their larvae eat pests in the soil too

Good guy. Don't worry; he's not quite that big in real life.

Mainly a pollinator, the Soldier Beetle will also eat pest species like aphids

The Assassin Bug also does a lot of pest extermination as does the Preying Mantis (atheist spelling) and my personal favourite the Dragon Flies that fly top over me while I am in the garden and pick off the Mosquitoes and Deer Flies that pester me until my tiny air force swoops in and devours them. 😀
