Has anyone successfully grown a Plumeria plant to flowering outside Hawaii or wherever they're native? I'm in Arizona & just bought a plant - a stock about 14 inches tall with a small, reddish new, tender growth coming out the very top. Just returned from 2 weeks on Maui & loved all the Plumeria tree blossoms. Really want to keep this one growing. Appreciate your experience with one.

I would dearly love to grow pua melia in my yard in Oregon, but I'm pretty sure that's a dream that won't come true! It is one of my favorite flowers and fragrances, but Oregon is not tropical, no matter how hot it seems sometimes, lol!

  • This was my Pua Melia - one of my girls - the closest to actually growing pua melia (plumeria) in Oregon!!

I've got one that I keep in a huge pot so I can bring indoors in the winter. Take it out every spring and put the whole pot in a hole in the ground, cover it with mulch and it grows and flowers every year. Mine is about 4 ft tall.

@Allamanda I'm in Southwest Texas I think I'm zone 7 or 8

[gardeningknowhow.com] This is what I found. I think your area is good - unless you are prone to cold spells?

Maybe someone who knows the area will be along. 😉

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
