The Snakes Head Fritillaria, Fritillaria meleagris, also known as the dice box, are coming into flower now in the garden. They are found in the wild in the UK in old pastures, it is not known if they natives or just naturalized. There is also a less common white form.

Yes it does, it is said that the name means dice or dice box, both names may come from the same root.
They are so cute! I tried them one year, but they didn't seem to care for Oregon.
