I am excited at finding a community garden in the part of Florida to which we just moved. It is associated with a county library, which makes it a doubly wonderful thing, as reading is one of my other passions.
Not only am I new to this site, but also to Florida, for the most part. Yesterday, we went to a local nursery, and bought a comonly seen bromeliad, a salvia, a confetti lantana, and the plant pictured (I hope), whose name I do not recall. I'd not seen its like before, as it does not either live, or thrive, in NJ, where we used to live.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Its name,I believe, begins with Oxa, or Oxo.

Welcome to Agnostic, and welcome to Florida. If you're ever over on the east coast, near Ft. Pierce, you might want to drop in to see the biggest collection of Bonsai miniature trees east of the Mississippi. I'm a volunteer there.

Love Bonsai. Looked forward to the shows when I lived in San Francisco.
