Every little bit we can do for the bees now, we need to do - great setup you have for them!
I couldn't imagine 20 years ago needing to attract bees for a non commercial operation, but here we are. Everytime the temp gets above 60, the bees and butterflies get active, but there are so few flowers blooming.
Great. But it is generally thought better to feed bees with white sugar, there is some evidence that brown can give them bowel disorders.
So if you only have brown sugar make sure you also give them some pepto bismol ?
I had heard the opposite, I guess i need to do some more research.
I've wanted to set up a bee hive, but my yard is not condusive to that.
I'm just feeding some of the local bees, dark brown sugar and water in shallow pans with rocks and marbles in the pans.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
