I planted 6 lavender plants yesterday and I know nothing about growing it. Help!!!
Where I am, lavender is a bit unpredictable. If it succeeds, it does wonderfully, but it sometimes doesn't take. And it is inclined to go straggly and woody after a few years so keep it cut back into the shape you want.
Will do?
We put some in a couple of years ago. And virtually no care they are looking good now. But this is Oregon, and we do have a fairly mild climate.
Little or no care sounds pretty good.
Lavendar grows best in theMediterraian. Hot but not humid, tough soil. Be like the Provence, Farmboy. Actually, we have fields of lavedar here in upstate New York as well. Which kind did you buy?
I'd have to dig up those little thingies they stick into the little pots. I can't remember ?
@farmboy2017 Well, you could just wait ntil they set flowers.
It was Ellagance. I took a look at the tags today.
Practically a weed here (PNW) mine is on a well drained slope with full sun, so hot for here but hardly Texas hot. The soil in that part of my yard is acidic and nutritionally poor and I've never treated it.
Our soil is alkaline ?
Lavender is pretty easy to grow once it gets rooted, just take the normal steps to make sure that the soil is kept damp until the plant has chance to establish itself.
Will do!
Full sun and neglect.
Oh goodie! I got this, then?
Lavender is lovely but it needs lots of air to its roots and lots of sunshine. Over watering is not good.
Gonna have to watch the watering!

A lavender farm is born. From 6 plants
What a story I'll have, ha! Gonna have to get out the text language dictionary for the other part!
And now I know! That's twice I got schooled , today?
@farmboy2017 LOL!
