I never enjoyed being alone before marrying my first wife, with whom I spent 20 great years. I didn’t enjoy being alone after she died of breast cancer, so I remarried at 43. My second wife, also of twenty years, died five weeks ago, also from breast cancer, and I am alone again. It ain’t fun.
Oh man! So sorry to hear that. Being alone sucks. My wife died died on June 5th and left me with 3 daughters, 11, 10 and 2. I can relate. Once again, accept my condolences.
So very sorry for your loss of two wives. This is a great group of people who are ready to listen. I lost my husband two years ago this month on the 22nd. It’s still not easy, but I have a good family and wonderful friends to help me at my sad times. Sending a hug your way.
Interesting coincidence. I lost mine 4 years ago on the 26th of this month.
@JackPedigo Sorry Jack, seems like June is a tough month for a lot of us to get through.
@Redheadedgammy Thank you. My birthday was less than a week earlier (Gemini) and she was alert and even hummed happy birthday. Someone made her a crown of flowers and a lot of people showed up (someone counted 66) and we had a pot luck. I know this was more about her than myself but that actually made me happy. Her death was so amazing. It was an ideal death for her but you and I know, not for us.
Sorry for your loss, it's not easy losing your loved ones
At least you had 40 good years. My late partner died quickly from a brain tumor. People would ask how long we were together and we would joke and say 10, or 12 or 15 looong years. Now I say 16 short years. Still there are 16 years of great memories.
It can suck but there can be hopes for another and/or close friends.
Posted by bookofmoronsIts been 10 years last week since I lost her. Hard to believe where that time went and yet it isn't either

Posted by KymmacgOne of the biggest issues for me, now, even 18 years later, is the loss of life.
Posted by alonI had a nice Bacon/Cheese Omelette for my Sunday Breakfast this morning instead of my usual Eggs Benedict.
