My wife died in early October 2015 after a long fight with her brain tumour. The end came fairly quickly and unexpectedly. Given her recovery and improving health and abilities, I thought she'd be around for at least another decade. When that sort of tumour changes at that stage, that's it. Say goodbye. Well, now I'm trying to rebuild life, she didn't want alone, even for a minute.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is unreal how quickly a brain tumor can disable someone. We had a total of 46 days from diagnosis to death. Where before that he was the picture of heath and vitality. We were lucky that he had no pain and died peacefully at home. I agree, when someone truly loves you they would never want you to be sad and alone after their death. It's funny you say you are rebuilding your life. It is almost like starting out as a new person isn't it? We married when I was 22 so I almost feel like I am starting out again, with wonderful (and sad) memories but having to discover, and create, a new me. I wish you all the best in your journey. Thank you for sharing your story. ~ Katie

so sorry for your loss, my husband died 1 Dec 2016 two years after being diagnosed with neuro endocrine tumours of the liver (secondaries) they gave him 9 months.
I'm trying to work out who I am after looking after him for the 6 years we were together, he was ill in all that time. I gave up everything that I thought was me as you do when you're caring for someone.

What a wonderful gift you gave him. Isn't it an honor and privilege to comfort and help someone with such a major transition. Death, to me, is just another phase of life. If you live a full life there is nothing to regret or fear. I will always cherish the 46 days I had to say goodbye. That was the most difficult and most rewarding thing I will ever do. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I hope to learn more about coping with loss from this group. ~Katie

That is so sad. So sorry for your loss.
