As the annual Eurovision Song Contest is almost upon us once again, I thought I’d post this year’s Irish Republic’s entry from the unlikely named BambieThug with the song - Doomsday Blue. The contest takes place in Malmo Sweden next weekend and Ireland are once again amongst the favourites to win…having already won it more times than any other country at seven wins to date.

Have you heard the lyrics of this song, Russia and Israel were told to change the lyrics of their songs to remove political content or or leave the competition (One did one one didn't) but this slipped through without a comment?

I guess you'd rather have a star than the moon,
but your favourite colour
Compared to the others is doom, doomsday blue

is the most obvious much repeat metaphor

No… as I explained to Roger I haven’t heard any of the songs in this year’s contest except the Irish one…I haven’t even heard the UK entry.

@Marionville Those are the Lyrics of the Irish song

@LenHazell53 I must admit I didn’t listen too closely to them…I don’t really like it much anyway…but that’s usually the case as far as the winning song is concerned.

She sings well enough but her song is not a catchy tune, which is what I'd expect from a winner.

I’ve not heard any of the other songs…so it’s hard for me to judge, I never pick the song which wins anyway as rule!
